the power pole was cut down the first year the summer night market opened, can't confirm who was the culprit

J-Chow 06-09-2012 11:27 PM

went back to river rock night market and bit the bullet on the dash cam:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/seney/dvr.jpg

They had two versions.

720 resolution for $50 or 1080 resolution for $70.
Fiance bought something else from the store, and they gave us a deal, so I got the 1080 for $60 :)

Just bought it for shits and giggles. Don't have a big enough SD card yet, but once I do, I'll do a quick review of this car cam.

Turned it on a few times, no problems there. Exterior plastic is cheapo (expected).

But other than that, menu and user interface is simple and straight forward.

*The box says 720, but it's actually 1080. You can change the resolutions in the option menu*

Box includes: AV wires, USB connector, car adapter charger, and suction cup mounting hardware.

trollface 06-10-2012 06:18 AM

If you want to wait, you can pick up the same one for $25 on ebay.

drunkrussian 06-10-2012 11:40 AM

went to bridgeport location yesterday and it was really dead. there were like 4 hurricane potato stands all beside each other. the hot item everyone was eating was this deep fried squid - its $7 but u get waaaaay too much. the guys atthe booth are hilarious shouting "DEEP FRIED SQUID" and SPECIAL NOODLE $2!!" at the top of their lungs every 5 seconds to get a crowd hahaha

BlackZRoadster 06-10-2012 02:14 PM

^ the squid was really good and fresh.

It's not expensive considering the amount but you really need to share it. Me and my fiancé had it and was stuffed full.

Vansterdam 06-10-2012 03:51 PM

i swear the chinatown nightmarket is even smaller this year

only thing worth checking out is that bbq pulled pork food cart

Sorry for the unnecessary bump, but do you have any vids up and running that you could show us as an example?

Paradise240 06-15-2012 11:45 PM

Went to the RiverRock one. Just typical nightmarket stuff, I didn't find anything too good.

Only thing I bought, was jumbo bbt for $5. My friend had green apple, which tasted pretty much like water and they offer free pearls, because they only give you about 15 or so.

The new one looks nice and all, but the old one is better in my opinion. You don't have to pay $1.50 :fullofwin:

first time going to any Richmond night market. Dont get the hype but then again maybe I'm old and i'm not into annoying LG's + you can buy basically everything thats being sold at the stands on ebay or most dollar stores for much less.

imo, the Chinatown night market is still the best when it first started up and had the two streets going. Reminded me of temple street

Temple Street, without all the stands selling dildos and sex toys.

blee123 06-17-2012 11:40 PM

dlo 06-18-2012 12:56 AM

Durrann 06-18-2012 03:00 PM

^^ damn i went on the wrong night LOL

i know its not surpsing but one of the egg bubble guys handles money and food without washing up..i'm sure theres more food stands that dont care and plus its hella busy.but i guess im a bit of a germ phobe

on a positive note LG's full force on friday night this past weekend

blkgsr 06-18-2012 03:20 PM

was there friday night...as a white guy that eats alot, the food is expensive for what you get

just a whole lot of crap for not really all that cheap

will never go back

i-VTEC 06-18-2012 03:27 PM

If you guys want to get a discount on foods, go really late at night, probably 1 hour before closing, those vendors had to clear the food out for the day, then they will give you a deal. Last time I got a big bag of pop corn chicken with a big bag of yam fries for $5 Original would have cost $8

Anjew 06-18-2012 04:17 PM

i used to think doing that was a good idea then i realized the food i got was cold, mushy, tough etc.

then go up to them ask for a new one. If they cheated you out, just report to the Nightmarket's office. After few complaints they probably be ban from having a stand there in the future years

Agreed! Big crowds. 5bux here and there will add up,
By the end up the night I would have spent $25bucks on
Small appies and sll be hungry. Rather goto a francise restaurant

Same experience

BBT, 4.50
Squid, 6
Curry Fish Ball, 5
Chow Mein, 4

Adds up so fast lmao!

Vansterdam 06-19-2012 04:23 AM

Average night for nightmarket munchies is around 20-30$ lol

melloman 06-19-2012 07:17 AM

^^. Go at midnight to the OLD NightMarket and get killer deals because it's fucking dead there almost every night. By the end of the night the vendors just want to make a buck instead of throwing out food.

Great deals to be had. :fullofwin:

Man I feel bad for the vendors that spent all that money renting the spots.
