It is still a good no annual fee card if you can meet the minimum annual spend to keep the World Elite status. But for many people I don't think that's possible. https://forums.redflagdeals.com/roge...487/#p32170024

Nevertheless, it's not about meeting the minimum. People I know of who has Centurion usually spend close to half a mil on average on their Amex alone before being offered one.
But really, it's not exactly a great card other than some bragging right if you don't use the concierge. And it carries a hefty yearly fee. At least 3 persons I know of canceled their Centurion because it simply didn't make sense.

Lol I just got this card too. Cash back on Us only instead of all FX is a deal-breaker. Good thing my euro trip is in May, cancel it after that.
Considering the Scotia passport infinite as a travel alternative https://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/per...nite-card.html

Went through that RFD thread and still couldn't find a good replacement for the "everything else" category. Any suggestions other than AMEX Simply Cash?

I just signed up for Amex Cobalt for my personal card, as a lot of my individual spending is restaurants.
For my shared card with wife, which is more gas, groceries and FX/travel, it was Rogers WE but now considering Scotia Momentum or Passport Infinite once June rolls around.

Do restaurants even take AMEX? Seems like a useless card in general imo.

For dining, consider using Simplii. 4% cash back and everyone takes Visa.
Only draw back is I think you need to have an account there (no fees from what I can remember) to apply for it.

In the last 3 years or so the wife and I have gotten over 5k back from the Costco MC
Albeit we shop at Costco a lot and we also spent a bunch on Reno’s etc. However we are also getting our membership fees paid for, the car insurance included in the card are pretty decent, and the value in terms of cash back is sooooo much better than exchanging for flights or gift cards with a card like infinite Avion etc.

 | the costco cashback card is not even that great of a cashback card.
0.5% cash back for the first 3000 bux. 1% after
i believe 2% gas?
and 3% restaurants (the only thing its good for)
but its free, and got your face on it, and dual use membership/MC card.

 | As well, if you dont get enough cash back to justify the executive membership, they will reimburse you the difference
May not be the greatest overall, but when you do your majority of shopping at costco and then using it every time for eating out it adds up

 | Wait - the mastercard doesn't give you executive membership does it?

 | This is exactly it, I use the Costco MasterCard exclusively for eating only.
My PC MasterCard World Elite does the rest of the heavy lifting for grocery shopping. ex. Stacking PC optimum points and deals, fill up gas at Mobil 1 stations (not at esso cause it has a terrible return rate)
And then there's the home trust visa for international purchases

 | Old:
 - 1% cash back on everything
 - no fx fee for foreign transactions
New:
 - 1% cash back on Canadian purchases
 - 0% cash back on foreign transactions
 - still no fx fee
That's my understanding.
