http://www.erdinger.de/images/detail...sbier_main.png Does anyone here brew their own beer? I was thinking of giving it a shot. |
this thread is relevant to my interests. |
That's a lot of foam on that Erdinger - almost looks like whipped cream topping |

http://foodology.ca/wp-content/uploa...asahiblack.jpg Asahi black ftw.. they always come with this tiny little glass in restaurants.. Im not actually sure why though.. (care to explain anyone) That or Sapporo is my go to beer at Japanese resto's.. Really digging the Canadian lately.. not sure why though. (Didn't like it before but I get the craving every so often) |
I've been drinking Stanley Park Belgium Amber, brewery is owned by the Mark Anthony Group. |
Stanley Park is excellent |
Granville island Winter Lions ale and Philips chocolate porter |
3 Monts and Young's Double Chocolate are some of my staples http://www.mediafire.com/conv/b1895b...445fd3a34g.jpg |
I've had Granville Island Beers: Brockton Ipa, Pale and Winter Ale and Island Lager, Honey Cypress The GIB Raspberry beer is sweet, if you like that kind of thing would do you good for this hot weather. But to compare it to Bowen Island beers: Ipa, ale, and lager, there's more of a cripser taste in the bowen island beers, though thats imo. As for the good beer, Chimay is always a soother on a nice hot day. A bit pricey but worth it knowing where it came from. And if your in the mood to try some good, fruity beers or just any beers, should check out: St. Augustines, Commercial and 7th, they've basically got their own brewery, tonnes of beers and when you go to the washroom (men), theres a tv that tells you how much beer is left for each type whether its the stout, ipa, ale, good pub food too |
Sapporo is nice and light when eating... :) |
2012 Canadian Brewing Award Winners: Great Canadian Beer Blog: 2012 Canadian Brewing Award Winners Central City won Brewery of the Year. lol my cheap go-to ale, Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale $2.15 per 500ml tall-boy won 2nd in its category. Not too shabby. |
Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to pick up a 6-pack of the Bud Lime Mojito.. Instantly regret it after the first sip :ohgodwhy: :heckno: |

surprisingly good, 9% alc and dry, so it really does pack a nice punch. |
I tried Big Rock Rye & Ginger recently. My overall impression of the beer was good, but definitely not great. I'm not sure if I'll purchase it again, but I'm leaning slightly towards not. Some notes on it.. -It has a nice moderate carbonation, and leaves a slight tingle on the lip. -A very nice malty taste, I think this would be my favourite characteristic of the beer. -The ginger taste is very subtle, but present. I didn't find myself having to search for the taste. I would have preferred a bit more ginger flavour. -Slightly more present than the ginger is a lemon citrus flavour, which worked well but I would have liked a bit less of it. Worth trying if you're a curious beer nerd. http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/...8737caeb16.jpg |
Planned to stop by the liquor store tonight. ^Probably give that a shot too. Glad to know I'm not the only one trying these random beers. My friends always made fun of me whenever I brought over a 6pack of something they've never heard of :alone: |
http://www.canadiandesignresource.ca...le-bottles.jpg I also buy random beers to try and get laugh at too |

That Imperial Ale is TERRIFIC. Did you grab that from central city? I had no idea its in stock. That is the best IPA in the North West in my books. The regular IPA on draught is good as well but the imperial is more balanced. I find too many IPAs place too much of an emphsis on being way too hoppy. You should also try Eclipse of the Hop from Howe Sound. |
