Might be of benefit to a cheap owner/team looking to hit cap floor without actually having to pay real dollars out.

That makes sense. So if he takes the year off, they don't have to pay him but they keep the cap hit.

so his caphit will still apply next year, but he'll owe whoever team 1 year still. If he doesn't play next year but the one after, does that team get his services caphit free for that year?

anyone think Columbus overpaid for Bobrovsky? 3 draft picks for a backup basically..... it actuallly only helps the Canucks i think though.
