Any recommendations for taking off the sticky residue left over from the decals off the plastic fairings? I tried goo gone but it leaves a cloudy haze over black fairings

Dragon-88 08-05-2015 01:47 PM

Anyone signed up for the Ducati Test drives this weekend?

Try rubbing it gently using a rubbing compound. The turtle wax company makes one that i've used in the past.

A little bit of WD-40 on a rag.

Dude backed out of picking up my bike last minute. Super pissed. Not sure if I should buy one now and just park the SV until it gets sold.

Dragon-88 08-06-2015 01:22 PM

Nooo dont buy that one.. Cause I want it...:okay:

Was going to put up my Husky this weekend to see if I could get any bites on it.

Lemme know if you go see it, I'm interested in how the scratches look.

That sucks, one part of the selling process I hated. Lots of time spent showing and so many flakes

Scooter club just ripped past me in steveston literally right now. Anyone on here join in?

Dragon-88 08-07-2015 07:27 AM

Yup, I was with my Girl doubling on the Grom, we had a scooter buddy move in from Kelowna. So it was his inaugural Welcome cruise. Started in High Gate area, queenborough, river road, Steveston then ended in Iona. Great day for a ride yesterday... Grom kept up no problem with 2 up.

radioman 08-07-2015 08:13 AM

Doubling up on a grom!?!?

googling pics

matter 08-07-2015 09:17 AM

My buddy's poor car got smoked by a biker this morning at work.
This was on Shell just north of Bridgeport.

*update: biker ok, gear melted off, but ok.

Yup, I'm also running -2t in the front sprocket, so i have great low end, but now my grom tops out around 100kph.. So going 2 up isnt a problem...

matter 08-07-2015 12:32 PM

Alright amateur sleuths...what kind of bike do you think it was/is?
My first guess was KTM cause of the orange fender.

I put my speculation on what happened in the GTI thread. Summary: lost control and slid out.

I'm thinking of getting a Grom now that I'm in Kelowna. I'm not going to tour out of town for another 10-15 years when my kids grow up, just commute to work and explore the local twisty 60km/h roads. Also pack it on the back of the minivan for road trips like I saw on the Vancouver Grom group.

Not for another two years when we buy a house. Which sucks because Kelowna Honda has a brand new 2014 Grom for $3300 with just tax on top. So tempting. But I'll probably head to Honda Centre in Burnaby when the time comes for a similar deal.

Anyone know of any local moto-gymkhana groups?

qhey 08-09-2015 08:37 AM

Hey looking at gixxers k7.
This is a good deal?
2007 gsxr 600 **Price Drop
Anything I need to pay attention too when looking at the bike?
Thanks

Sunfighter 08-09-2015 09:52 AM

qhey - that looks like a really hot deal, honestly. Especially considering the bike has brand new tires. I would look for scratches and nicks on the engine covers and on the bar-ends ... it's usually an indication that the bike has been down. Fairings are easily painted but folks rarely address engine covers.

Otherwise I personally think $5,500 is a pretty hot deal for that bike.
