Another time had a wasp/hornet or something fly into my chest, about a minute later I felt a giant sharp pain, it had fallen onto my waist area and chomped my inner thigh (close to "the boys") it bit through my jeans.:rukidding: |
Hey guys, new to riding. What is the best place locally to buy gear such as helmets and jackets etc. I know of pacific motorsports and bayside, but which do you guys go to? |
Everyone on here will probably say Burnaby Kawasaki. Personally my stuff is split between 2nd gear in Coquitlam, and the discount rack at holeshot |
I bought my gear from Modern they have good prices but bad customer service. |
You already mentioned it but I get the majority of my stuff from Bayside. |
Thanks, I'll give those a try |

as long as you deal with aaron or nate it's okay... i take it you've never had to deal with murray before... |
2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR Can one of the resident rich guys buy this so I can drool over it's glorious song? Please? |
I've met him once LOL. Hes just an interesting guy ;) |

I have had good experiences at Bayside and Burnaby Kawasaki. Jay (Burnaby Kawasaki) is not afraid to match online prices. My helmet, gloves, etc., were procured via Jay at Burnaby Kawasaki and I paid less in CDN dollars than they were listed for in US dollars on Revzilla. |

Hey guys. Need some help with my little '79 kh100 bike. So it's been over heating sort of. Insured it and went out last night with it. After about 10 minutes it started popping and bogging down. Oh also all the electrics shut down (but I solved that, blown fuse). The engine was warm for sure. But by no means was it hot enough to be seizing. No god dsmn way. I switched to premix so I know it's getting proper oil to the engine. Now, it started popping out of the carb I'm pretty sure. If it starts to do that, why?? Is it possible the spark plug is too hot? I replaced the plug with a new one a while ago (ngk b8es) and it finally made it run. But ever since its done the over heating thing. Could it be totally fucking up the cycle if the plug was super hot? Also the coil and other electrics were cool to the touch. So, can anyone on here help me choose a colder spark plug? I'm not sure how really and figured it's a cheap way to rule it out |
What type of color are you getting out of the plug? Is it running too rich? Did you do any changes to the Air intake? https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...c7&oe=5632F76B |
is the ignition points style? if so, check that is set correctly may even be worth replacing, they're pretty sensitive to corrosion. also, did you replace the stock air box (or filters) with something hi-flow like a pod filter or something? could be running too lean. taking a look at the plug will give you an idea if it's running rich or lean. short-hand of dragon's chart is Black is Rich, white is lean. you want a coffee with cream kind of colour. |
I checked the plug last night and it looked really good. In the chart above, it's a cross between the "ok" that's far left second from bottom, and the "best" which is row 2, in the middle. I may buy a colder plug just to see, worth the $2 to test. And fuck, I don't know why I didn't think of the air filter causing lean!!! I'm not even running a fucking air filter right now due to ripping it off to constantly check. DURRRR |
If it's popping back out through the carb I would say your timing is out. If Raid3n is correct in asking about whether it's points style, your timing would be out and cause the overheating problem. |

edit: the only other thing I'd look at is if the fuel tank is venting properly, if not once it's warm it might be getting pressurized. |
So tell me how hard it would be to import a motorcycle? What regulations are required to meet importation laws? How similar is it to a vehicle? I've always been fascinated with Husqvarna motorcycles, especially the Nuda 900R.. Well we cant get these in NA. So i'm curious as to how hard of a process it would be to import one from the UK? If its not as simple importing, how would I be able to bring it in as a kit bike? I'm not 100% serious about it, but if it isnt to much work I may consider importing one. http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-c...da-900r-21.jpg |
Well if you go on Craigslist, there are a few husq for sale. Also there is no crash safety or anything to follow. It might just be as simple as importing one, and then going to icbc with all the paperwork and having them register the bike |

Like I said, wrong jetting on a 4 stroke isn't great for it, but on a 2 it can hole the piston or make it seize really fast. Given the bike's age though I wouldn't rule out the carb still needing a rebuild even after being set up properly. |
^^ yes yes, i dont know why i totally blanked on that. i dealt with all of that filter and rejetting when i had my ruckus. 1. ive already personally gone through the carb multiple times, its on point 2. checked the timing and it was perfect as per kawasaki (magneto style, its so basic lol) edit 2.5. added a little k&n filter 3. installed new spark plug. bought b8es and b9es. when i removed my spark plug again yesterday i saw it was b8hs, which has a shorter thread length than the b8es by almost a half inch! so i put in the b9es and she is fucking purring 4. going through fuses like a fuck and my rear LED light smoked. water must have gotten in some how during storage. but. ... bam! https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/357/19...d4f29dc4_c.jpgUntitled by 320iCar, on Flickr https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3884/1...808c6130_c.jpgUntitled by 320iCar, on Flickr went out riding for about an hour and a half and it was glorious! hot idle was a bit low but i adjusted it once i got home. lights failed obviously while i was out. but it never overheated or stalled. well, it stalled once but thats because i ran it out of fuel! good ol' reserve tanks lol. small victory guys. but a pretty big one |
