Honda East | Maumee, Ohio | hondaeasttoledo.com

There are a ton of sites out there that have the same service, any of them will do.

Well it happened again. I got into an accident with my bike, this time not my fault.

2 cars were in a left turn lane into a mall parking lot and I was going in the oncoming direction, car behind the first became impatient and decided to turn left before the car in front and he hit me. I'm ok but the bike has busted fairings (again) but I don't know what else may be damaged behind the bodywork. I'm waiting for the insurance company to call me back now to tell me where to take the bike for inspection and damage assessment.

This happened literally 2 minutes away from my house and I'm so glad that i wore all of my gear even though it was stoopidly hot outside. It just goes to show that all it takes is an impatient 70 year old to ruin it all for you. If I wasn't wearing my bike pants, my leg would have some serious scratches right now but thankfully no scratch or anything on my leg.

I'll update my journal thread on the progress of the bike repairs. (link in signature below)

God damn. Well if it's a salvage title, my gf might want it cheap LOL

Jas29 07-19-2015 11:28 AM

Go to the doctor and get checked out just in case hopefully your gear did a goodjob protecting you

?NR 07-19-2015 11:43 AM

Glad you are alright. Material stuff such as bikes and gear can be replaced.

You, cannot. Stay safe and do seek medical help if there's anything amiss.

let us know the outcome.

if you can, add to this thread banananannanana started.

Ugh that sucks, sorry to hear Vexor. I agree, I'm sure you're ok but get checked out anyway.

Go to Fastenal, tell them what you need. They should have it no problem.

Looking for price check on this bike.

2012 Triumph Street Triple R 675

You guys think its a solid deal? What would you offer.

matter 07-20-2015 09:34 AM

Price is pretty reasonable, maybe a couple hundred less since it basically has no options/add ons. That is the inbetweener model year so you get many more options and parts availability. Also the ECU is still tunable for free unlike the 2013+. Also the different gearing makes it more wild.

I'd pay a little more and buy a brand new FZ-09 or a little less and buy a brand new FZ-07 but I'm biased. :) I was looking for a used Street Triple before I bought my Niner but I couldn't find one that didn't have super high mileage or they we're asking waaaay to much for.

FZ-07 is def on my list of bikes.

I ride an SV650 so they would be very similar. I would like ABS on a bike but the yamahas dont have em. Might not be a deal breaker.

I would like to test ride the 9 but as a fairly new rider I don't really want a wheelie machine. I know I can change the throttle mode but then whats the point of buying a beast of a bike to keep it leashed.

I know the triple is a beast of a bike but I've just read too many good things about it.

There was also an 2013 FZ-08 that I might see sometime this week for about $6400. It would be hard to buy it with just a little more I could get an 07 etc.

OK so the fz-08 throttle is weird. Feels so fake. There is no resistance at all.

Finding a new bike is difficult lol

Not to be biased but I do like the Street Triple, Triumphs and red bikes. The motor is special and sounds terrific (even without an aftermarket exhaust). The bike is (relatively) lightweight, very thin and handles exceptionally well. The torque that the bike makes is very accessible - meaning that it's a joy to ride in the city and even light to light. It's not a high-revving 4-cylinder engine that has to be rung out constantly to move half a block.

As somebody else indicated, the 2012 was the last of the first generation Street Triple (2007 - 2012) but this model did have the updated cluster that transferred over to the 2013+ generation, which I find very appealing.

If you could get it for a dash under $7k I'd suggest it's an acceptable deal ... particularly if the tires are in good nick. If it needs new tires, I'd factor that in with your haggling.

I have spent a ton of time researching nakeds and keep coming back to the Street Triple.

Sunfighter 07-21-2015 07:16 PM

VEXOR - dude, I'm super happy that you are alright. Please keep us up-to-date on the progress of the bike. Maybe we'll see a 3.0 variant unveiled next year in a different colour? Regardless ... don't hesitate to ask if you need a hand with anything I'm in your general area.

Just got back from winthrop, highway 20 is so epic on a weekday with no traffic.
Took me less than 2 hours to get from winthrop to sumas lol

dn53 07-24-2015 04:43 PM

Anyone ride highway 3 before? Thinking about a 2 day trip down to Christina Lake with some friends.. anyone know where would be a good place to stop for the night? :)

In other news.. I was impounded on the Mary Hill bypass in the evening. Was not aware the speed limit is 60 there :(

Yep, rode it from Osoyoos to back here last year (went south first & back across the border in Osoyoos). between Eastgate and Keremeos is the best stretch in my opinion but on the map it looks like past Osoyoos is also a fun ride.
