Nope, works with Xbox Music. Zune was discontinued and Xbox Music is replacing it.

Update on Lumia 920, 33 hours on the first run with texting/calls/browsing/lots of music/wechat/kakaotalk. I'm very impressed with it so far. Camera is spot on and the driving navigation.....god damn :sweetjesus: it blows Google Maps out of the water for me.

It also knows the speed limits, aka 60 on the Granville Street Bridge. I guess the annoying part is it will beep if you go over 60 by a bit, but at least it helps you be more responsible. I'm more impressed that it knows the speed limits of streets/bridges/highways.

Also, for any Asian travelers, Nokia Maps/Navteq has access to China/HK (more so China because Google Maps has no directional input there).

^ tried downloading xbox music... said it was up to date :lawl: zune can't detect my phone :alone:

I like the weight of it. When I use my parents' iPhones, I have urges to throw them because they feel so light. Personally, it gives me a stronger sense to be careful whereas I feel lighter phones seem like toys to me.

^I too like it if my phone is a bit on the hefty side. When I went to the states they had a dummy lumia 920 and I compared it to my lumia 900. To be honest, I actually really like the size, shape and weight of the lumia 920. I want that feeling of knowing I am holding a solid well made phone.

Any first impression or review on the Lumia 920?
After playing with it at the Microsoft pop up store, I'm quite interested in it

bcrdukes 11-27-2012 11:22 PM

Got to play with the Lumia 920 today.

Solid, solid, solid build quality. The phone feels like a phone, not a toy. Some of you may prefer the lighter Samsungs or HTCs. This phone feels like a REAL man's phone. The polycarbonate casing and Gorilla glass is second to none. I got to compare it to the HTC and Samsung equivilants and I have to conclude that Nokia > Samsung > HTC.

Excellent audio quality. Nice, clean, crisp voice/speech and music clarity. The camera itself is pretty damn sweet compared to the competition and the exclusive apps alone trump the competition.

I'm going to wait this one out for a bit but I forsee myself using a Nokia WP8 phone soon. :)

If you buy it, you won't regret it. That's the only way I can describe it. Take it out to places, people take a look at it and when they see a live tile, the question of "what is that?" usually comes out. It's definitely a no-brainer if you use Windows.

i havent really played with it since ive been away; but from what ive experienced i have some irks

1) i really cant stand the lack of a drop down screen "notification screen"

2) some settings are hidden away like mobile data (used to having a mobile data button in the drop down or on my homescreen)

3) the store is a bit odd when i sampled some music albums i have no idea how to shut it off so i keep getting sound bites of all the songs available from a particular artist
the store is also laggy even though im connected with wifi

4) still not liking the lack of wallpaper

5) some bugs in the camera (auto mode doesnt always detect that its dark) the lack of controls/settings is also a concern

6) im still not used to the weight and i dont think i will be unless this was my phone that i would be using all the time

I guess you could say some of my issues is mainly due to me not being used to how wp8 handles things

There will be a bug-fix update in January (Apollo+) that should fix some of those irks

I do like how fast/fluid it is when moving through the screens/menu (aside from the store lag)

I like the speaker on the phone

I like the feel/build quality of the phone

I like the screen and its sensitivity

Again, I haven't really tried the phone out at all, those issues/likes are from my 1hour-ish experience with the 920

Have you tried the Find My Phone feature? It could be that I'm in a weak signal area, but I can't seem to get the Erase function to work on Windowsphone.com. It says it'll keep trying, but my 920 still has all the data, even when I do acquire a signal.

woob 12-05-2012 11:40 PM

Is cyan being released anywhere?

c3m 12-06-2012 03:10 AM

^ Lumia 920 in cyan color is exclusive to AT&T right now. No words on if it will ever be released outside of AT&T

no i havent sorry

i just spent like 2hrs teaching my dad how to make a microsoft account and link it with the phone -_-

dasani604 12-08-2012 12:16 PM

So month in report, Lumia is still a beast and it's garnering attention from people who see it. The photobeamer is quite something - essentially go to photobeamer.com, have a picture open on your Lumia and point it to your screen, bam your picture from the phone is on your computer screen. I'm in hardcore Windows Phone 8 fanboy mode, but if you haven't made the switch and you're tired of Android/iOS, definitely worth it.

App limitations are barely noticeable unless you really value your games.

c3m 12-08-2012 04:08 PM

^ Does it have instagram on it?
I heard there isn't but last time I played at the Microsoft store I saw it on the app list. Dafuq?

StylinRed 12-08-2012 05:28 PM

i think photobeamer is a lame gimmick.... nokia should just port over Nokia Big Screen or PlayTo

It doesn't have official instagram, just similar apps.

Meh, I'm just glad Nokia is slowling pumping more of their exclusive apps. Their Nokia Maps and Drive+ Beta are the stars.

Microsoft Stores (pop-up stores) are located at Oakridge (outside Nike), Metrotown (Close to wirelesswave), and Coquitlam Centre
