Does your phone say LTE under "Highest connection speed"?

hmm do some research on the rom you are running. it's possible H+ or 4g = LTE. a lot of phones from asian market H+ or 4g = LTE on the phone. coz LTE technically is still 4g. i know on my note 2 running n7105 rom right now H+ = LTE i confirmed it doing a speedtest.

yray 01-24-2013 09:01 AM

I put mines on max 3G but it still jumps to 4G from time to time

LTE sucks balls in Vancouver, constant jumping from 3G to LTE = no battery life :lawl:

amusegt1 01-24-2013 11:53 AM

I think you are right terkan. My 4G probably also includes LTE. I'll ask NokiaHK for further clarification.

Does this look like LTE speed? I did this test in Richmond. I only had 2 bars out of 5.

For 2 bars and during lunch time, yeah, that's LTE for sure. And those are pretty impressive speeds for peak hour traffic!

My brother's phone always seems to stay on LTE. He's up at SFU most of the day in lecture halls and in labs. It will only ever fall back on to 3G when he makes a phone call (naturally.)

StylinRed 01-24-2013 01:29 PM

yeah that's LTE

there's only 1 rogers app and the rogers load screen (which i think goes away if you flash some difff fw onto it)

Its not bad if I stay at one place but when I travel through downtown and Vancouver to get home; holy shit, my network logo was like playing roulette. :lawl: Doesn't help when my house only gets edge until I walk 20m away from it. :fullofwin:

bcrdukes 01-24-2013 02:10 PM

Same with my brother. He's either at Burnaby, Surrey or Downtown campus but he hasn't complained of any problems where the network bounces back and forth.

You should switch to Bellus. :p

Or get an iPhone :troll:

yray 01-24-2013 04:50 PM

^same thing happens to my samsung focus :troll:
fuck iphones and itunes, fucking useless piece of brick

I use my phone on transit so network jumping sucks balls

First one is LTE from my room
Second is LTE from my kitchen
Third is 3G from my kitchen

:lawl:

terkan 01-24-2013 09:06 PM

lol better than my current network in hk.. i'm seeing 3g h h+ sometimes even edge and it changes every couple seconds LOL

WP7.5 being updated to 7.8 on universal roll out :lawl:

dasani604 02-07-2013 01:04 AM

So, I tested out the 1080p recording with the Lumia at the Muse concert tonight. The sound, spectaularly amazing - no distortion as reported by various users on WP central. Video though, when zoomed up, it's not the greatest. I suppose you can't expect much from a far away zoom for video quality.

StylinRed 02-07-2013 02:24 AM

yeah i wouldn't expect anything from the video really

the camera in the N8 is better (aside from ois) but even that with concert filming zoomed in, meh audio is $ though

havent tried my 808 in a concert but i hope it fairs much better :)

StylinRed 02-09-2013 12:43 PM

So a Lumia 1000 looks more and more certain to be announced at MWC with the Nokia 808 pureview camera sensor in it

Nokia teases with this image, similar to how they did with the 808, on their facebook page today

and asking "Can you spot the guys ice fishing in front of Nokia HQ? ;-)"

edit: supposed false alarm

dasani604 03-08-2013 08:53 PM

To whoever is getting dust in the front camera of their Lumia 920: this is why

StylinRed 05-01-2013 04:06 PM

Koodo is releasing the Lumia 520 for $150 (no contract price) that's excellent imo im even considering getting one for the hell of it

StylinRed 07-11-2013 05:59 PM

So this isn't exactly the 808s Sensor

The sensor in the 1020 is smaller than the 808s sensor its 1/1.5" instead of 1/1.2" and its a new generation BSI sensor :/ but the 1020 has OIS and an extra lens element and its f2.2

dasani604 07-11-2013 11:14 PM

I would get this...if only I could trade in my 920 :okay:

StylinRed 07-15-2013 04:03 PM

I dunno.... the more i read about the 1020 and the more i look at the press shots by Nokia the less and less im impressed by this device in fact im unimpressed disappointed even :/

ah well

Time to wait for the Sony Honami hopefully that'll be good

yray 07-15-2013 04:09 PM

nokia drive+ no longer beta :fullofwin:

I'm more interested in the camera app update.

guddagudd 07-25-2013 01:52 PM

I'm looking to get a windows phone, what's my best option here?

AstulzerRZD 08-03-2013 04:19 PM

Pretty much any nokia device... they have the most pull in terms of apps, as they have their own app section within the store. The 1020 mentioned above sounds nice!

OGCStrike 01-07-2014 11:12 PM

im really interested in 1020. any rsers that can give a feed back about it? would be greatly appreciated :nyan:

amusegt1 01-12-2014 12:49 PM

The 1020 is pretty much the exact same as any other WP8 phone. Its basically a Lumia 920 with a 41MP cam strapped to the back.
A small difference is the screen. The 1020 uses AMOLED vs the 920's IPS LCD. I find that the colors are not as accurate, but it is fine for the average user.
The only thing I miss is the integrated wireless charging. You need a wireless charger back-cover adapter for the 1020.
The camera in the 1020 is a beast. Really good low light performance. And this is equipped with a Xenon flash vs LED on the 920. Using the 1020 as a digi cam drains the battery pretty quick.
If you like taking pics and videos with your phone, this is the best choice.

That's pretty much all I have noticed for the couple of days I have used it. I had the 920 before the 1020. Now im using the 1520.

Hope this helps.
