rogers is coming with the yellow one. and rogers booth was saying that a blue version might come to canada. still no word on the FUCKING RED! FUCK! sigh....i want the red so bad but dont want the international version or the at&t version |
considering the price to unlock and the price for an out of contract one from rogers it would actually be cheaper to order the international version found that out the hard way ;) |

the thing is, i am with rogers, so the 549 price is appealing to me. the international version doesn't support certain lte coverage, but the north american (rogers and at&t) support more lte main frequency difference is the 700mhz, which covers more area for lte coverage, i only get lte in certain areas. |
^ i thought nokia lumia 920 only has one version and all version are the same other than carrier bloatware International Lumia 920 shows the same freq for LTE and hspa as the ones from Nokia Canada From Nokia Canada Site: Bands LTE 700, LTE 850, LTE 1700, LTE 1900, LTE 2100 From Nokia Germany and Singapore LTE 700, LTE 800, LTE 850, LTE 900, LTE 1700, LTE 1800, LTE 1900, LTE 2100, LTE 2600 |
as far as i know the ones from the UK are the same as the one here but im not 100% i just ordered the wireless charging stand as a stocking stuffer for my pops I thought it was only available at ATT or, overpriced, Expansys but Amazon sells it too http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3NCC8M/ stock is dropping fast looks like 10people just ordered one since i placed my order a few minutes ago |
Still not available from Bell. Bullshit. Bell doesn't have a single phone that fucking appeals to me and I hate Rogers and Telus way too much to switch. |
buy it from rogers and unlock it you dont even have to pay rogers to unlock it anymore the unlocking websites are finally able to |
if you guys can get your hands on an Indian Lumia 920 look at the LTE frequencies it supports http://gyazo.com/975d7f7eed78e1336f0...png?1356557417 It's been suggested that if you flash your phone with the Indian firmware that that will unlock all the LTE support; it's assumed that what the phone supports is all set in the firmware |
Any personal reviews/summary of phone? Currently have sg2 lte, but want to pick one up.. |
ive played around with it some more its very smooth/quick tbh id say its faster than an sgs3 but my time with one of those has been more limited; the app department may be lacking in the numbers but for me (im not a heavy app user) from what i see from the WP store you shouldn't have any qualms about it it is a great phone, especially after the recent updates that made the camera a lot better and brought in some more nokia features like a limited functioning sleeping screen (on lumia it only works when your phone is being charged unlike in symbian) the only thing i still cant get around to accepting are the tiles although they are a vast improvement over wp7/7.5 i still prefer wallpapers (there are ways to liven up the tiles/homescreen but its still not the same for me) if that's not a major block for you than the phones are great, i would even suggest the Lumia 820 over the 920 since it has an amoled screen (i prefer them) and user-replaceable battery and expansion slot the samsung ativ s also seems to be getting some praise if you wanted to give an alternative a look just a note though GOOGLE is actively trying to disrupt WP user experience by blocking maps.google.com, throttling youtube (through IE browser), and no gmail app (from google); however nokia maps is great and there are youtube apps so that wont be a concern and you can connect to your gmail account anyhow through other clients |
^im sooooooo torn now, i really wanna buy the 920 in the next couple months, but now there are rumors saying they are releasing an all aluminum successor to the 920 which will be lighter and thinner. but no news on the specs or price. is india's 920 unlocked? cause i have an uncle who owns a cellphone store there. |
Nokia Maps is a heck of a lot better anyway. |

as for the rumors of a new Lumia; thinner and aluminum and lighter is nice but i don't know or think the camera would be as good as the one in the 920 (which really isnt that great especially when compared to the 808) so if that's a concern i wouldn't wait and as for the weight, its heavy indeed... heavier than my 808  but it's really not bothersome hell like the video i posted somewhere in here a baby can handle it with ease... 1 handed... aluminum is nice, i prefer it but that doesn't mean polycarbonate is bad it's quite nice too actually Here's a user rendering (this rendering actually came out well before the rumors of catwalk) http://mynokiablog.com/wp-content/up...t-d592elx.jpeg Quote:

:lawl: who needs gmail when outlook is way more powerful than a gmail app google maps :fuckthatshit: nokia turn by turn directions w/o data youtube: I haven't watched youtube on my phone since day 1, apple daily works so smoothly m.google.com is gay as fuck, I don't need every site to go through google mobile optimization |
Im surprised that google would actually stoop to such actions especially considering Microsoft went through all sorts of legal hell over their support of IE over other browsers back in the day |
By chance is the Lumia 820 smaller in size than the 920? I feel that the 920 is too big. |
Dimensions Weight Lumia 820: 123.8 x 68.5 x 9.9 mm, 83.5 cc (4.87 x 2.70 x 0.39 in) 160 g (5.64 oz) Lumia 920: 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 mm, 99 cc (5.13 x 2.79 x 0.42 in) 185 g (6.53 oz) just slightly it would seem; don't know how much of a difference it would feel like in your hands as i havent played with one |
Any word of whether the Lumia 920 will receive any particular software/hardware upgrades in the near future? Friend of mine is interested in one but as always, he is a little more cautious about buying newly released electronics/phones. Edit: Anybody who owns the Lumia 920 or knows of this: Can the camera shutter sound be turned off? |
yep with the latest camera update (so far released for rogers and at&t branded 920s) you can shut off the shutter sound it also improves the PQ (the release 920 had worse PQ than the Proto) software updates... well there has been updates already; the cameras been updated; nokia has introduced a limited sleeping screen; i think its too early to be talking about a windows 8.5 but im sure its coming and afawk the 920 will be getting it and unlike the lumia 800 and 900 there's no "apollo" update coming in a few months that may or may not work with current devices. Also with the .5 updates they're software features like Mango was so, with that, the 920 and 820 owners shouldnt be concerned |
you can turn it off already, its in ringtones + sounds in settings same for 7.5 |
Cool, thanks. Any recommended resources to get either an unbranded/unlocked Lumia 920? |
just grab a rogers and pay o unlock it, the unlocking websites can do it now; way cheaper than getting rogers to do it |
DT-910 stand $69.99 and having to keep nfc on :fuuuuu: |
