I have this system pre ordered and I have a feeling im going to have nothing to play for quite awhile lol |
NBA 2k14 trailer PS4 in game footage supposedly |
What do you mean "supposedly"? Are you saying it looks unbelievably bad, or unbelievably good? Because the facial animations still look 2006 to me... They do look accurate though, but there's nothing "OMG" about this trailer IMO |
I said supposedly because game companies never seem to show actual game engine footage im my experience just cgi'd videos plus it was a straight link from another forum im on and seeing "omg trailer" in the title i was under the assumption that member had uploaded the vid himself :lol |
Ah.,. yeah that totally looks in-game to me, unlike everything we saw from GTA V before it was released. |

now if only i can figure out how to preorder a ps4 now. should've down it months ago fuck me. |
so first watch dogs pulls out..now drive club joins the delay until 2014 club. Is there ANY reason to get a PS4 at launch if you aren't a die-hard Killzone fan? AC4 and BF4 doesn't really count as they are launching on current-gen and PC...correct me fi I'm wrong PS4/XB1 offers no advantages over current-gen versions. At least back then when PS3 launched you can argue you are buying a blu-ray player...I see absolutely no incentive to get a PS4 at launch. |
If you're going to get one to play they games you'd buy for PS3 anyway (AC4, BF4, etc) and hope the exclusives are good next year, then you might as well.. otherwise there really is no reason to, unless you just want the latest shit just for the sake of owning the latest shit If you have a decent PC to start with, taking $300 of whatever you would have put into a console and buying a GPU would be a MUCH better investment, and pretty much future proof. |
How often do gpu's need upgrading? To keep up with high settings and smooth gameplay? The last pc I had for gaming was used for Halflife, after that I just went console. |
If you are just aiming for console level performance and graphics, you wouldn't have had to upgrade since 2006 or so. GPUs were more expensive then, but they were already ahead of consoles, especially PS3. If you are only aiming for console specs (640x480 res, or maybe 720p, at 30 fps steady with 2 frame vsync) then you would be fine with the 8800 GTS or something similar that came out for around $300 in 2006-2007 Today if you buy a R9 280X or GeForce 760, you are already well ahead of consoles, and will remain so because consoles will always be what they are. You will probably always get to play console ports at 1080p with at least 30 fps, which is what the XB1 and PS4 are aiming for with most games. Consoles have the advantage of low level API programming, but today's $300 cards make up for that with way more horespower and a much higher thermal envelope and power consumption allowances. |
too soon to be making recommendations if you're actually interested. wait to see how much performance will be gained from mantle and how many AAA titles will support it in the future...and how much console ports VRAM will use...you'll get a better picture in the next 12 months what type of video card can last you years without breaking the bank |
new killzone gameplay video skip to 22:46....jizz.. |

Am I missing something with Killzone? I tried it out but the shooting system drove me nuts so I gave up (ie if a guy is hidden behind something, and part of his head is sticking up, shooting it does nothing). |
So guys seems I'm late to the party, EB games and Future Shop not taking anymore pre orders.... I was told to check Toys R Us or Wal Mart.... what are your guys suggestions ? where can I pre-order it so I can pick it up right on release day, thanks |
you could try ncix they just sent out a new slew of emails advertising ps4 pre orders |

keep an eye out on amazon.ca, from time to time launch edition ps4 pop up as available for preorder, some times bundled with games. currently theres a launch edition available for 799 :lawl: |
yea I checked NCIX and it says first batch sold out or whatever... so amazon has the $800 bundles that probably nobody is buying eh ? no way, I'm not that desperate considering I'll only be playing NBA 2K14 on the system, and Gran Turismo when it comes out..... but I remember paying $800 for the PS3 on release day, and I remember specifically we all got suckered into paying that because of the PS3's cool new "revolutionary" CELL PROCESSOR thinking it was worth it, turns out nobody coded their games for that piece of complicated shit, only Polyphony Digital had Gran Turismo running at 1080p and 60fps... everything else looked typically worse than the xbox 360.. I was really looking forward to paying almost half as much for the PS4 this time around just for the principle of it Quote:

guys on craigslist flipping their preorders for $700+ -_- |
^^^....then some drug dealer or dumb rich kid will buy it.......For the sake of having the newest shit, just because its the newest. |
13 days.... we gon' make it boys!!!! I think i may just get ACBF and possibly Killzone, im a fan of Killzone games but theres not much replay value, or even online play value. I always end up getting them though. |

I seen some people already buy the PS4 controllers, where can I get one right now ?? I wanna test it out on my PC with some sports games also buddy told me XboxOne is worse graphically ? said that Microsoft is not even showing any legit gameplay videos in fear they would be compared to the PS4 version.... further, COD ghosts runs only in 720p on xbox1 and developers for COD basically said it's due to inferior hardware by Microsoft ?? anyway thats what buddy told me I'm no expert, but I do have some common sense I know Microsoft is a Software company, and Sony has always been a hardware company so obviously Sony would know more about how to build a system |
