horvat 1 goal in 3 games, "cant wait for him to be a superstar". sure he was flashy but the way people are going at guance, you could call horvat, raymond2.0

the thing you should be looking at is the fact he admitted to having a horrible rookie camp, yet still produced points, played well defensively and was a plus player. the fact he still contributes while playing bad is a good thing. as for footspeed, tavares and many other notables have had bad foot speed when they entered the league. no they didnt become speed demons, but improved enough through off season training so they could play their game at the nhl level.

this shit is overrated just wait until wjc for our prospect to shine

yet Gaunce always gets choked at the media when they mention his skating as a weak point

Not sure what season you were watching. He started off strong, when other players weren't up to speed/strength, and he drove to the net maybe because defenders were afraid to break him again. All of that wore off as the season progressed while competition became stronger and he finished horribly IMO. He stopped getting into the middle and did his classic skate down the boards, stop and button hook, and even started falling more too lol. Not so horribly to be deserving of a PTO mind you, I wonder if he's unwilling to take a paycut and sign for less than he made last year. You have to think SOMEteam must be willing to pay 1-1.5M just for the upside that he can bring. And he's a decent defensive player too

Listened to it this morning and they had one of the guys from Tragically Hip on. They were talking music for the first 5 mins I heard then switched to sports and the Hip guy had nothing to really offer.

I think my brother said it best, "I tune into 1040 to listen to expert, in-depth analysis of sports. Not music and other BS. If i wanted to do that, I'd listen to a rock station."

So it was a pretty eventful Monday Night for sports and they ramble with the bassist from The Tragically Hip, don't get me wrong, I like the hip, but this is sports radio. No one gives a shit about Pratt's Leather pants.

Maybe things will change when Hockey starts...or whenever Pratt realizes that Bro Jake is terrible at the job and at least try to lead... because you know, at least Pratt is a Sports Radio host

I've tuned in each morning of the new show as usual during my morning commute. I'd normally listen to 1040 for 75% of my drive, and 980 for news for 25%. I've already found I've reversed my % and am listening to 980 more.
