Kessel got a match penalty, those slashes were deliberate, Shanny needs to come down hard with this one. Clarkson will get a 10game, theres no excuse for this incident, Biznasty is appealing his and has a chance as he is using the "line change" excuse. Clarkson has no excuse but maybe to save Kessel's life |
Bernier wins the fight against Miller. No Miller time tonight!. |
I don't think Kessel will get much in terms of games. Those slashes were vicious, but what's the alternative? Scott went after at a non-fighter. Was he suppose to turtle or take the punches? |
lol clarkson |
lol... totally cuz of last game's shootout shenanigans |

the leafs and bruins gonna have a big brawl this season :D |
which two teams brawled last year? philly and nj? just finished watching it... Kessel so lulsy with them slashes and a good poke at the end and yeah Clarkson is a fucking moron, Scott just doin his job :lawl: at least no goaltender pulled a DiPietro |
toronto, montreal, buffalo, bruins and ottawa are all pretty up there with PIM last season, those teams can bang |
GG, Gagner is out with a broken jaw... according to the Shanny logic / NHL wheel of justice Kassian is probably looking at 4 games So Kessel said Scott said he was gonna jump him...so he decided to slash him 239 PIM handed out |
|
LOL. so they acquire scott and ott (et al?) to address the needs for toughness since the Lucic incident on Miller haha kessel is too funny. that third whack he made on scott while he was being held..i had to rewatch that 3 times |
I missed the game for a work dinner. Don't fuck with the Leafs. Buffalo is full of chippy dick bags. Kaleta is at the top of the pile. |
dont even kno what league this is |
^ AI YAI!!!!! |
god damn, i wish the canucks had a line brawl.. that was a pretty exciting game to watch, for an exhibition match too! |
Clarkson was dumb for leaving the bench, but I really can't blame him for going out there. He didn't really fight but for nearly 3 minutes of that line brawl he did hold Scott back from engaging the small Leafs. If Scott had gotten free, he could have been a real danger to Kessel or other Leafs. Kessel's slashes weren't that bad as he went for Scott's shins. He at least faced off with someone in his weight class immediately after that and did rather well. Can't wait for the rematch when the Leafs ice their tough guys. |
Clearly an accidental stick swing, nonetheless a dumb play. I don't think that it's suspendable though. Knowing Shanahan's judgement though, 4 regular season games would make sense. :okay: |
Pratt was going off this morning about how the Kassian stick thing was on purpose and he needs to grow up Posted via RS Mobile |
Pratts a fucken idiot, it was careless but not even close to on purpose |
Ouch that looks painful. |
The thing is... the average player doesn't whail and swing his stick backwards after/while he misses his check...especially with that kind of force So it not completely out of the picture when you have some people saying there was intent |
Don't know why this made me lol: RIP Sam Gagner's jaw |
haha.. yeah.. that looks like one of those "accidentally on purpose" kind of swings |

This is the easiest suspension Shannahan is going to have all season. I can't fathom how you think it's not a suspend-able incident. You can't just look at it and say not a suspension. You have to apply the rules that govern the league. Regardless of how abstract and subjective they are. 60.3 Double-minor Penalty - When a player carries or holds any part of his stick above the shoulders of the opponent so that injury results, the Referee shall assess a double-minor penalty for all contact that causes an injury, whether accidental or careless, in the opinion of the Referee. 60.6 Fines and Suspensions - There are no specified fines or suspensions for high-sticking, however, supplementary discipline can be applied by the Commissioner at his discretion (refer to Rule 28). Rule 28 - Supplementary Discipline 28.1 Supplementary Discipline - In addition to the automatic fines and suspensions imposed under these rules, the Commissioner may, at his discretion, investigate any incident that occurs in connection with any Pre-season, Exhibition, League or Playoff game and may assess additional fines and/or suspensions for any offense committed during the course of a game or any aftermath thereof by a player, goalkeeper, Trainer, Manager, Coach or non-playing Club personnel or Club executive, whether or not such offense has been penalized by the Referee. If an investigation is requested by a Club or by the League on its own initiative, it must be initiated within twenty-four (24) hours following the completion of the game in which the incident occurred. 28.2 Pre-Season and Exhibition Games - Whenever suspensions are imposed as a result of infractions occurring during pre-season and exhibition games, the Commissioner shall exercise his discretion in scheduling the suspensions to ensure that no team shall be short more players in any regular League game than it would have been had the infractions occurred in regular League games. |
