This is a team that can roll 4 lines AND make up for the Rick Nash disappearing act.

Gh0stRider 05-17-2014 12:34 PM

w00t Rangers!

Ch28 05-17-2014 01:29 PM

LOL @ Montreal

68style 05-17-2014 02:19 PM

Meh... I'm no habs fan, but I would have almost expected them to fall flat on their own faces after the adrenalin of that Boston series and all the drama... they'll come back a different team next game.

Alex Ovechkin is back in the team hotel. Walking on his own, no crutches, but limping. Team doctor says it's "better than expected" #Caps

Ovechkin underwent MRI in a local hospital. I was there when an ambulance brought him back. He said "It's so very serious", but with a smile

Once again, the team doctor offered cryptic but optimistic news, saying "it's better than we thought." Ovechkin will not play vs Belarus.

He's lucky there. Could've been an ACL tear

BREAKING NEWS: Carey Price out for the remainder of the Eastern Conference final

BROSSARD, Que. — The Montreal Canadiens will be without goaltender Carey Price for at least the rest of the NHL Eastern Conference final.

Coach Michel Therrien announced made the announcement after an optional skate on Monday morning.

Price appeared to injure his right knee when New York’s Chris Kreider ran into him skates-first in the second period of the Rangers’ 7-2 win in the opener of the best-of-seven series.

Therrien did not say of Peter Budaj or third-stringer Dustin Tokarski would start Game 2 on Monday night at the Bell Centre.

"Carey Price won’t be able to play, not only for tonight but for the rest of the series," said Therrien. "Really disappointed. He’s our best player.

"Looking at the incident, it’s a reckless play. That’s the truth. And Kreider, that’s not the first time he’s going at goalies. So we end up losing our best player, but our group faced a lot of adversity throughout the course of the season. We have the attitude to respond really well and that’s what I’m expecting, starting tonight."

Therrien said he hopes the team can win without him to give Price a chance to return for the Stanley Cup final.

Price stayed in Game 1 after the collision but was replaced after the second frame by Budaj. He tested the knee briefly on Sunday morning, but did not take part in an optional practice.

Price backstopped Canada to a gold medal at the Sochi Olympics in February and was having strong playoffs for the Canadiens.

Wow... :rukidding:

Can't believe this luck for Rangers.
Our ex-coach laughing all the way to the finals while our other ex-coach couldn't even get us to the Playoffs.

I see Montreal still winning though. Might be a rallying cry for the team.

Expresso 05-19-2014 10:30 AM

Maybe one game or two, but they are going nowhere fast without Price.

the end of the video has a good close up on Emelin who take's a desperation attempt to knock the puck lose and throw's Kreider off balance, there is not much Kreider can do when falling at full speed that close to the net. Does it still happen if he wasn't slashed by Emelin? Im not sure either way unfortunate for the habs

My money is still on the Blackhawks to defend their Stanley Cup.

Chicago is going to destroy any team that comes out of the East.

The Least from the East will get hammered in the Stanley Cup Final.

NYR has good young players, like when Canucks had a young Raymond, Grabner and COHO (and Tanev).

Ch28 05-19-2014 07:49 PM

Raymond was never a 'good young player'

dbaz 05-20-2014 05:49 AM

add to the fact, grabner wasnt even around when tanev and coho played their first nhl game, nor would he have made a difference
