Imagine how good Kessel would be if he didn't sit around his apartment all day playing video games and watching TV.

Dat beer gut :considered:

Ovechkin isn't the most aesthetic guy around either...

That was from 2011 when the Capitals decided Ovechkin shouldn't train during the summer and to play his way into shape over the course of the season so he'd "peak" in the playoffs.

Unsurprisingly, Ovechkin had his 2 worst seasons during this period.

Now that he's back in peak condition, he's lighting up the league again.

16.14 Goaltender Professional Try-Out Agreement. In the event of, and to address, a last
minute injury that results in a Club not being able to dress two goaltenders for an NHL Game
and when the League has determined that effectuating a Recall is otherwise impossible (e.g., a
Recalled Player could not possibly have arrived in time to participate in the Game due to travel),
such Club may sign a goaltender to a PTO in accordance with Section 11.1(c) and subject to the
following provisions:
(a) The Club must file, in accordance with Exhibit 3 hereto, a PTO Form attached
hereto as Exhibit 17-A.
(b) The Club shall have sufficient Payroll Room, equivalent to the amount necessary
to Recall a Player with an SPC that has an Averaged Amount equal to the Minimum Paragraph 1
NHL Salary.
(c) The Club may not use a PTO pursuant to this section in consecutive games.
(d) A Player signed to a PTO pursuant to this section will be paid US $500 per game
and will be allowed to keep his game-worn jersey. This amount will not be included in
calculating a Club's Actual Club Salary and Averaged Club Salary, and the Players' Share, for
purposes of Article 50.
(e) The Player must not have a current contractual obligation elsewhere. In addition,
the Player cannot terminate an existing contractual obligation to meet this requirement.
(f) In the event the Club is at the Active Roster limit, the Club may utilize a
Goaltender Exemption, and shall comply with the provisions of Section 16.13.

Not bad. Get a jersey signed with all the players, sell it. :fullofwin:

That'd be 1000!

Gumby 01-06-2014 09:07 AM

$500 bucks, and a jersey to keep, just to sit on the bench? Not bad!

Although Laurie may have shit himself just a bit when Lack got run over... :troll:

There seems to always be a goalie scare whenever we have a non-pro back up sitting in.

Petr Nedved made the Czech Olympic team haha blast from the past, I didn't even realize he was still playing somewhere.

Calgary’s Jiri Hudler and Phoenix’s Radim Vrbata — the third- and fourth-leading Czech scorers in the NHL this season — have been left off, along with Florida forward Tomas Fleischmann.

Instead, the Czechs have gone with a number of veteran players, including 42-year-old ex-NHLer Peter Nedved and 30-year-old Jiri Novotny, both of whom play in the Czech Extraliga.

Looks like a good team ... For Torino ...

Maybe the Czech's have discovered time travel?

RiceIntegraRS 01-06-2014 11:52 AM

I guess the Czechs are tanking on purpose to get a #1 draft pick. wait a second........

Petr Nedved?? Team Geezers for the Czechs. I can see Jagr on the team given his offensive stats at his advanced age. Nedved? :suspicious:

Jmac 01-06-2014 12:12 PM

Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to be said
But nothing comes out when they move their lips
Just a bunch of gibberish
And motherfuckers act like they forgot about Nedved

Petr who? He's had four seasons in the NHL with 30 or more goals.
-best part of his career was playing with the Rangers. That's it.

A soft player. You think Team Canada is trembling with fear because of this guy? Hahaha.

dbaz 01-06-2014 12:31 PM

cherry was on hockeycentral at noon, kept on ranting about how bieksa should be on team canada ahead of a bunch of other people. :lawl: fucking senile old man

fliptuner 01-06-2014 12:39 PM

Guess he missed the game last night

Jmac 01-06-2014 12:39 PM

No he wasn't ... He clearly said BIESKA ... No clue who that guy is, but he sounds like a hell of a hockey player. Also curious who this Lelongo guy is ... Cherry says he'll be starting for Team Canada.

:troll:

dbaz 01-06-2014 12:48 PM

Early indications are Luongo ankle injury not serious. Walking without limp. MRI fine. But Canucks still waiting on specialist's word.
