^Was good audio. Got a good laugh out of everyone.

Tanev looks like he's going to get a nice raise after the exit-interviews with coach and GM.

Edit: The Canucks will probably resign him before exit interviews. Or maybe not if the Canucks bow out in 4 again in April :troll:

Top NHL Career Earnings.

Can't believe Redden got paid almost $70 million.

Wow, Ray Bourque lived in the wrong era, only 32 million over his career for one of his eras top D men.

XplicitLuder 01-09-2014 05:47 PM

crosby's stats :fulloffuck: prob gonna go to # 1 top paid by the end of his career for sure lol

m3thods 01-09-2014 07:17 PM

Are those numbers just up until this year, or does it take into account his recent extension? If it's just to this point, I think he becomes a UFA at 38 (2025), so no more big money deals for him at that age. Probably just a bump to get him as a Pen for life. And that's 9 more years at 8.7, which puts him at the top of the list by a small margin.

Assuming Malkin and Ovie don't bolt to the KHL, I think they have a shot at taking over the lead when everything settles.

Edit: Looking back at some of the yearly salaries is interesting. Take a look at Burnaby Joe. He made 17m during the 1997-1998 season. Seeing that I thought, "holy crap that's crazy!"

Then I got to Sergei Federov: 28m that same season.

WHY

was Richards & Carter let go by the Flyers organization again?

Ludepower 01-09-2014 09:30 PM

Supposedly..their partying got out of hand. Surprised they were reunited in LA.

Notes from this morning's interview with Gillis:
- Burrows won't be back until next week at the earliest.
- Luongo likely to start practicing this week. No definite timetable for return.
- Talked to league regarding goaltender interference.
- Not much trade talk going on around the league.

I finished 2nd in Canucks Fantasy Hockey last season. They didn't have any signed jerseys at the end of the season, so they sent me one this year from the player of my choice (Daniel Sedin to go with my Henrik jersey). Took a while to get it, but happy to wake up to a FedEx delivery :fullofwin:

Verdasco 01-10-2014 10:28 AM

not sure if anyone posted here but reddit has a AMA (ask me anything) with mark messier a day ago

Mark Messier here to take your questions : hockey

a lot of non related answers he gives out... must be a sport athlete media type of answer so no shitstorm is caused, other than his answers with crosby which he loves

and i laughed so hard when he types out "LOL" in a few answers

and the biggest answer of all the questions he gave was that he didn't want to receive captaincy from trevor linden when he joined the canucks. Lie or truth?!?

sonick 01-10-2014 10:32 AM

Q:
What things, if any, do you wish you could have done differently during your time with Vancouver?

MarkMessier:
rebuilding a team is never easy. If I changed one thing i would have not accepted the captaincy from Trevor.
:considered:

LOL @ question.

Quote:

Q:
Would you rather get hit by a Scott Stevens sized duck, or 100 duck sized Scott Stevens?

MarkMessier:
one thing i learned was to have my head up when scott stevens was on the ice. what a great defenseman. tough as nails

Mike Oxbig 01-10-2014 10:35 AM

Pretty sure the Canucks organization ran by orca bay stripped Trevors captaincy and gave it to Messier when he joined the team. I can see he asked to wear #11...

No disrespect but Maki's #11 should be un-retire.

Verdasco 01-10-2014 10:57 AM

lol @ scott steven's answer. Unrelated to the ducks whatsoever

7seven 01-10-2014 11:04 AM

Messier forcing Linden turned out the best thing for the Canucks IMO, lets face it, Linden was easily on the downside of his career. Linden trade brought back Bertuzzi, McCabe and Ruutu (draft pick). Bertuzzi was a key part of the Canucks success during the WCE days and McCabe was flipped in trades that secured the drafting of keeping the Sedins together here in Vancouver.
