Get whatever feels best in your hand in my opinion. They all do the same shit basically at the end of the day.

The images that the 5s can produce are pretty amazing.

People said that when the 5 came out (and the 4S, and the 4, and the 3S before that) but I think they have pros doing the photos because in the end, the photos look about the same as any other camera phone. Maybe a bit better than cheap Androids.

BaoTurbo 09-17-2013 09:59 PM

Gonna wait for the 5S to be available for work and then flip it

^Cool man

The reviews are up and pretty positive overall. Anandtech has a great write-up on the A7. That is one seriously impressive processor.

Better yet is that Geekbench has been updated so they could test 32bit and 64bit. The performance increase for 64bit is about 31-32% overall (individual tests could be anywhere from 25% slower to 800% faster.

So much for there being no immediate benefit to 64bit. Wonder what all the naysayers who actually wrote detailed articles claiming there'd be no benefit think now? Talk about making yourself look stupid to all your readers.

SkinnyPupp 09-17-2013 10:48 PM

Yeah some of those articles, and the anti apple idiots feeding off them, were downright embarrassing.

64 bit will give an immediate and noticeable performance boost when used. However what this does is segment the iphone 5 market significantly, something I know Jobs wanted to avoid for a long time. Also, in my opinion, all that power is wasted on a small screen device.

DJ Milk 09-18-2013 12:23 AM

So Apple stores in Canada are selling unlock units on launch day?

Harvey Specter 09-18-2013 04:07 PM

Anyone buying the 5s to flip? Supposedly the gold 5s might be the one to purchase if you want to make a few bucks.

judging from the picture, the hype for iPhones is definitely down a lot from recent years.

anyone have a clue on stock is gonna be like? I'd like to get one from the Apple store tomorrow morning, but dunno if these will sell out fast.

RickyTan3 09-19-2013 11:14 PM

If they brought out a 5" version the lineups would have started a week ago

As for stock, it's going to be next to impossible to get a gold one, that's for sure. Idiots will be willing to pay top dollar for one.

RickyTan3 09-19-2013 11:29 PM

That's why I bought a bunch of gold ones

SkinnyPupp 09-19-2013 11:30 PM

Good for you

HonestTea 09-19-2013 11:38 PM

Did anyone get 1-3 day shipping?

death_blossom 09-19-2013 11:38 PM

I looked around various local english language forums but nobody mentioned the launch at all yet... Nobody on my facebook mentioned it either.. I'm sure the 5S sold out pretty quickly to the fans, but most people don't really care I think.

Black (or grey or w/e you want to call it) and White (silver) estimate to ship in October+.
Gold is completely sold out, with no estimate dates so far.

Still plenty of stock in China though.

With the new Canadian pricing, flipping cdn phone anywhere would be tough. The base 16gb is 800 tax in. Very slim if any profit margin.

Only possible to get decent return if you buy at tax free states in US like OR.

China's 16GB's is $5288, equivalent to ~$888 CAD.
Those with the connection, and ability to bring back mass quantities will still be able to profit.
