Sooo this is just a quick confirmation that now All trims of 2025 Kona EV gets the full $9,000 rebate. Also... we have 2 Ioniq 5 N coming in, unsold~~~ |
Hyundai (and Kia) made an appearance at the Everything Electric show last weekend. Having read reviews about how these cars drive, seeing it in person a second time makes the experience feel even more exciting—even when it's just sitting still. I noticed our Canadian models get at least a heads up display and rear sunshades that were missing in the LA one was missing when I sat in one last November. Maybe dark can chime in and tell us what extra (and missing features) we get here. https://i.ibb.co/wR3qvQy/5n-front.jpg https://i.ibb.co/pvdtpxq/5n-back.jpg https://i.ibb.co/ByRZYfV/5n-seat.jpg If only I had heard back when I inquired about the 5N while I was in the market back in July... |

Found a free Chargepoint station today, there were around 12 chargers, but more than half of them were broken or out of commission. There were no cars in there at all, and that many non-functional chargers is kind of pathetic. |
^Ah yes. The joys of EV ownership. I sat in an uber Tesla model Y on Friday because my hitlerbox had to go back to the dealership for more squeaks and rattles fixes (4th time now) and it literally made me nauseous. I asked the dude if he was in chill mode, he said yes, but even then the regen braking and the acceleration still made me car sick. I never get car sick. I can do f16 dogfighting in VR, so it’s not like I got a problem with motion sickness. This EV thing isn’t for me. I don’t know if its the lack of engine noise or just the weird sensations in the car, but something is off. |
VW doesnt have loaners?? my parking stall at work has an outlet, is it generally frowned upon to use it to charge your car while you're at work "stealing electricity"? |
If you have to bring it back for a 5th time, invoke the lemon law. Force Hitler to buy it back. |

Maybe all the squeaks and rattle are from the cheap diffuser, wing, spoiler, body kit from AliExpress. No German engineering can rectify that. |

first of all ALIEXPRESS quality is better than this VW trashbag, and secondly, the rattles are all coming from shit I HAVENT touched. The most reliable thing is my aliexpress 60 dollar wing that's just double-sided tapped on (alien tape) Door trim!? DOOR FUCKING TRIM!!?!!?! why on gods earth would both front door trim rattle!??!?! screw you hitler the dash also makes a nasty creaking noise if you so much as breathe on it, ala modern-day Mercedes. So 2x they had to replace the front door panels because even the replacement panels had squeaky/broken clips. now 2x, they had to replace the front dash trim ONCE AGAIN due to squeaky/broken clips straight from the factory. I said i miss my maserati, but this level of failure is worse than the fucking italians. My old gran turimso at least never rattled or squeaked. It just tried to roast me alive when the seat heaters caught on fire and burnt down my passenger seat. ===== that being said, i still love it. its a great car. Squeaks and all. At least it shouldnt clunk out like my old mk7 sportwagen (dsg hesitation and leaky pano roof 3x) |
^ maybe there was internal memo and that's why they arranged financing to be $500/mth on the shitbox ... I mean Hitlerbox. |
No wonder it's $500 a month. This year is the first year right? |
No. First year is 2022. Two years later and they only sorted out some infotainment issues with their constant software updates |

That’s funny because I got a comment similar to you from a friend. Some people comment about the “swaying” motion that a Tesla does which is just part of their whole line up. I do feel it at times but used to it. But when I drove my friend, I was using a Rivian R1T instead. They said normally they get sick in the back of a vehicle but the Rivian gave them zero sickness feeling. She said something about how it accelerates and decelerates like a normal car, but way better. Rivian also has a much different throttle mapping which is probably better for passengers stomach. A Tesla throttle is pretty linear whereas the Rivian is a slower ramp up in all-purpose mode. It also doesn’t give you the full 650hp when you floor it unless I’m in sport mode then the throttle map tightens up but still remains on a ramp, just a very quick ramp where I can spin all 4 all-terrain tires with 5 adults in a 7,200lbs truck on dry pavement. But it’s enough that there’s no rocking/swaying motion during acceleration or regen. It also makes louder electric motor/inverter sounds which might also help in perception of what the vehicle is doing in real-time vs being fully silent. |
That description just reminds me of how my dad drives/used to drive when we went on car rides and road trips. He treated the accelerator pedal like an on/off switch. I guess in HK he was used to a gutless Honda civic but then when we immigrated to Canada the first thing he bought was a 'murikan V6 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.1l and he wanted to FEEL all 170lbft of torque (and 130hp) that his civic never had. I would get carsick every time we rode in that car more than 30 mins. |
Long before the popularity EVs gave today, a family friend of ours had a first or second gen model S, he lent it to my dad for a few weeks while he was away and I took it for the weekend It was nothing special, an S80 or somthing. But I picked up my buddy and went for a cruise on the highway, booted it a couple times here and there and tried the regen braking etc. I look over at my buddy and he’s as green as a head of broccoli as we took the exit :lol I’m like holy fuck are you ok?!? He’s like fuck this car feels weirdddd!!! :lol |
Elons been making people sick for over 10 years now. |
He couldn’t make anyone sick no matter how hard he tried, that 3” just wasn’t ticking the back of even his most devoted followers throats… So he designed a car that would have the same effect. |
We have some friends who were about to pull the trigger on an ID4 When they were finally going to the dealership last week they said all ID4 sales have been suspended because of a huge recall on some of the handles, so now they won’t even sell any “new” ones until they address the recall on customer cars |
