LOL you must really dislike the CTR. I'll always be the first to point out its short-comings (fucking wind noise jfc), but the shifter isn't on the list. Your perspective is from a S2000, which is most definitely better than the CTR. However, the CTR's shifter is miles better than other comparable products - VW Golf R, F30 340i, GRC/Corolla, any old BMW or old Honda that you have driven. I'll even go as far to say that the shifter is better than a GT3. Well.. 996 GT3 Clubsport.

Let me know the next time you're in town (IN THE SUMMER) and you can take my car to whatever backroad you want to really test out the shifter. 2 blocks from Robson Square to Yaletown wasn't really a fair assessment.

Don't get me wrong I think the CTR's a great track car, can't think of a better one out of the box. I was thinking more emotional/street fun car but yes we will re-drive in the dry and in the summer time

Your BMW DSSR shifters and the S2k really spoiled me ;)

I was thinking more emotional/street fun car -> Sir have you heard about the Elantra N lolol? I am not saying it cuz I work for Hyundai, but honestly to god...for fun per dollar under $50K out the door...

Badhobz 10-04-2024 05:36 AM

you wanna talk about bad shifters.. have you tried my hitlerbox? its like a huge plastic dildo wobbling around inside an equally plasticky H-gate pattern.

sometimes you're in second, sometimes you're somewhere between first and 2nd, and occasionally it has this unsatisfying plasticky....

i don't even wanna call it a "click", more like uhhhh if two ugly people where boning and their genitals happen to fit.. it works, just nobody is satisfied.

JDMDreams 10-04-2024 03:30 PM

Then why did you buy it if it shifts shit, I thought it was so satisfy your German beetle driving desire?

Many many years ago when I drove a mk5? Golf rental it confused the fuck out of me cuz of the floor hinged pedal, it felt awkward as fuck.

Almost everything is floor hinged now.

VW manuals have always felt like a Temu version of the P cars imo.

I remember driving a friends old VR6 and I’m like my stock EG feels so much nicer lol

There's been a shuffle on Tesla cars in terms of new cars.

Because of the tariffs on Chinese built Tesla's, both the base model 3 and model Y have been replaced with long range RWD models.

Model 3 LR RWD $54,990
Model Y LR RWD $59,990

JDMDreams 10-04-2024 05:09 PM

How does that help? Just back to USA stock?

Yes back to USA stock and having the same line up as them

So looks like no more lower priced base models. Model 3 and Model Y base has jumped up 5 and 6 grand, but it does come with longer range compared to the previous base models equipped with LFP batteries.

EDIT:

In terms of real range, the new Model Y LR RWD 70% usage (90% to 20%) would only yield 367km while the older LFP batteries at 80% usage (100% to 20%) 307km

Cuz I couldn’t get the CTR or the integra type S. name me another manual hatchback that drives as good as the hitlerbox for 500 a month tax in.

It can’t be beat. Even the trash SI is more money per month and it’s quite a bit less performant.

Some lazy searching suggests there's a bunch of options out there to make it feel better. Everything from weighted knobs and delrin bushings to Euro-spec shifters to this very pretty looking piece of kit: https://dieselgeek.com/en-ca/product...ift-kit-for-vw

Badhobz 10-05-2024 06:11 AM

Aye DAP (deutscheland auto parts) sell a “holy shift” kit. It’s similar to the thing above but it looks like a bit more popular amongst the hitler community.

I was gonna wait for Black Friday and pick it up cheap.

Sold a friend an Equinox EV - didn’t understand why they sold so well till I looked

Sooo who has a GM dealer / salesperson referral?

48k
Less 3k BC web discount
Less 1200 Costco
Less 9000 EV credit
Less 500 new grad within 4 years
Less 1000 preferred pricing through government employee
=33k CAD or 24k USD

The standard equipment is pretty wild
- 500km range w/ heat pump
- 360 cam (auto park optional)
- leatherette
- power lift gate w/ proximity sensor
- adaptive cruise (super cruise optional)
- auto dimming mirror
- tinted glass
- heated steering wheel
- Tesla supercharger support now
- 8 years free data for Google maps
- USBC phone charge (Ioniq/Niro/Kona EV owners will know this struggle)

It’s a lil slower, FWD, charges mediocre (150kw vs 230kw Ioniq)
But it’s literally half the price

Full self driving (supervised) …. If it’s supervised then it’s not full self driving. I don’t know why they aren’t being sued to death over this false advertising.

68style 10-17-2024 06:23 PM

I think they have to say that, the autonomous classification level of FSD still requires supervision

Badhobz 10-21-2024 12:35 PM

The only EV i really wanna buy. But 80k Canadian!?!?! nahhhh that's insane

Hopefully they've improved the software over the ID4 as it is hot garbage. There's also a lot of other little things too (having to put the car in drive twice to go into regenerative braking every time you need to move forward as an example).
