Not that easy. There's always these massive documents that have a criteria for determining a certificate of origin and usually it's a percentage of components COO plus a percentage of time spend on assembly plus sometimes there's specific parts that have to be procured locally.

I haven't see why BYD can't setup in Mexico and ship from there. That's what a lot of the Euros do. Or you could go the Hyundai route and keep your child labor force working out of the US.

Seen quite a few Hummers and Vinfasts on the road, Crapplewood has a used VF in their inventory. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7-93e6a5a2077b

JDMDreams 09-04-2024 09:53 PM

Hmm you can least a vf8 for like $349 a month, 0.99%

On the Equinox: $9000 + $1200 Costco Cash + GM Preferred Pricing for another 1500-5000 off sticker.

Walking around in Montreal, I've been seeing a lot of these EV charging stations along residential streets. Seems like a great idea as a way to let ppl charge up their cars overnight. Great solution for those who don't have access to something in their underground parking / garage. And for a lot of folks I think you'd only have to do this like once a week.

I saw this in Palo Alto too, but to a much lesser scale.

You must be in the nice part of Montreal, their cars were all beat as shit, dirty, rusted, they park bumper to bumper touching and they never move their cars. The days I was there the cars didn't move and all parked in the same spot. :fulloffuck:

RabidRat 09-12-2024 11:32 AM

Lol! Isn't that the whole thing about stereotyping? There's a whole distribution between "nice" through "beat to shit and never moved" in every city. You can't say that a sparse set of datapoints represent the whole. You could totally have been out in the tails!

Did some math:

The lightning is getting:
3.2miles or 5km/kwh even with 35% towing mileage.
That’s 20kWh/100km.

That’s what a Kia EV6 gets at 110kmh.

Lawl. The title and source of this article is fun.

That's pretty solid for a full-size pickup, especially compared to my Volvo PHEV over my ownership
Volvo PHEV: 21kWh/100km
Kia Soul EV: 14kWh/100km

JDMDreams 09-12-2024 09:06 PM

Isn't that good, we wanted the $20000 EV. And just don't sell. You get the saving back just by driving a safe modern car that drives itself + no gas, barely any maintenance.

The measure is necessary due to the current lack of orders linked to the deep difficulties experienced in the European electric [car] market by all producers, particularly the European ones,” said Stellantis in a statement, per Reuters.

Stellantis can't catch a break :lawl:

68style 09-13-2024 06:57 AM

I like how he says in one speech "Don't buy these, we lose money on each one we sell" and then in another article "We need to stop production because the European electric market is difficult"

How about just admitting your product is a piece of shit?

JDMDreams 09-13-2024 07:26 AM

Is it shit? I finally saw a new one drive on the street. I dunno if it was a EV model though. I've always wanted an abarth. But guys love doge ram and jeep. They should have continued the 300c and challengers. Surrey has enough population to prop them up. :troll:

yeah! and that's with 30% of KMs towing a fairly tall utility trailer (which reduces range to 220km)

So update on the X5.

I put in $30 worth of gas in two weeks ago because it was down to nothing and I didn't want it to be so low for so long.

All the trip counters reset when you put in fuel, no matter how much or how little. Since the fill we are averaging 1.1l/100km since most of our daily use is on electric. We had to use some gas last weekend because we were out and about and drove more than the battery range.

The BMW provided charger is a weak 110v at 10amp. I was thinking of getting a new charger that can do 110v at 16amp since on the odd days, getting more than 2.5km/hr of charging would be helpful. But then again do I want to spend $200 for a 60% increase in charging to ~4km/hr?

AstulzerRZD 09-13-2024 09:44 AM

low key I would just pay a buddy who doesn't use their 110v or a dealer/rental car place/whatever $50 bux to snag an unused one for me

looks like you'd want an Audi E-Tron or a TEsla UMC v2

My RX450h+
I was able to push the EV mode from 50km -> 67km after 2,600km ownership.

I previously owned a RAV4 PRIME for 3 years since 2021
so I re-use my Level 2 charger at home. Plug-in every night. Daily only in EV mode.

Hondaracer 09-13-2024 01:03 PM

Had a fiat 500 in France I drove 1100kms in 3 days

I wouldn’t pay $2000 for that POS, one of, if not the worst vehicles I’ve ever driven. Being an EV doesn’t magically make it desirable lol

tegra7 09-13-2024 01:08 PM

All Fiats are pieces of shit, not just the EV.

I thought the abarth was hilarious but ultimately a piece of shit

But the 63hp ehybrid in Portugal was super easy to drive, incredibly short first gear, much better clutch feel than TSX/Fit and shifter was more reasonable than most BMW

Don't remember if I shared this before, but grab a new Turbocord off of EBay for ~150. It's the same one that came with my Volvo and can handle both 110V and 240V up to 16A. Plus it's UL certified so safer than some no-name brands out there.

Say no to Fiat. Looks cool, but possibly one of the worst vehicles I've ever driven. (I still want one. :peek: )

Did anyone on here ever pull the trigger on a Polestar?

What kind of person on a jet ski takes a depressing selfie? Should be pretty happy, no? :suspicious:
