I would have itched for a G80 if it wasn't so ugly. F80 is gonna stay forever unless I can get my hands on a 911.

FWIW, I hate the way F series BMW drive but their Harmon Kardon is quite good compared to G20 and W205- 7 band EQ, 8" subs for low-ish bass.
We didn't touch the setup in the F80 he later got.

My best guess is manufacturers figured out after the W204/F30 that consumers just want a brand and shiny speaker grille.
They could reuse the same speakers with some tuning instead of giving an actual audio upgrade.
W205 Burmester was only a ~1k upgrade from the base audio on C class.

The HK system in my M3 is terrible imo. It's better than the tinny base Hi-Fi system but the bass is muddy as hell. It gets really loud but everything mid and lower is super muddy.

I sat in a friend's G98 with HK and it sounds so much better than my F80. I don't have any other experiences with BMW HK as our Mini and X3 had the HiFi system, and the X5 has Bowers.

^911s are stupid. Don’t be stupid by association

That's a lot more than you can say for the HK in G05 - anything above like 60% volume and the distortion is immediately noticeable.

It might actually be the first time I've actually heard distortion in a car lol.

neue klasse looks quite promising, do like the throwback pig nose to the 02 series

can't wait for wagon form!

whaaa... I must have been brain washed... but I honestly think the Hyundai Line Up LOOKS prerry solid...

twitchyzero 09-07-2025 09:44 AM

not feeling the retro LED squares on all the recent hyundais and while i dont like the overall vehicle body shape of the EV6, the facelift with praying mantis DRL is probably my fave current light signature

Hyundai is pretty solid other than the Santa Fe and ionic 9

JDMDreams 09-09-2025 12:18 AM

^^ it's all fun and games until your engine seizes or battery scratched

RabidRat 09-09-2025 05:44 AM

Does that still happen?

AstulzerRZD 09-09-2025 08:39 AM

There's very little you can buy from them that won't leave you stranded, explode or set on fire.

List of models without a major recall since 2022 is pretty short:
- Elantra N 6MT
- Sonata
- Venue

Recent recalls, US only numbers include:
up to 2026 EVs pop their module that charges the 12v battery, 145k cars
up to 2025 DCTs have hella issues, 100k
up to 2024 Palisade, Tucson, G80/G70/GV80 have fire risk, 1.7M
up to 2023 Santa Fe catch fire from trailer hitch harness, 850k
up to 2023 elantra seatbelts explode, 240k
up to 2023 elantra hybrids have unintended acceleration, 40k
up to 2022 CVTs got recalled

New hybrid, IS500 gone.
New interior, LFA tach gone.
New adaptive suspension and steering.
New hands free self drive under 40kmh.

Still no fuel economy, power tailgate, heated steering wheel, nor heads up display.

Same shitty 6AT with transmission hump.
Same 2GR with slow 8AT.

bcrdukes 09-09-2025 10:25 AM

This must be celebratory news for you! More Toyota hate! :fuckyea:

Thanks for ruining the front of it. way too much negative space with the huge and empty front grille. nothing to break up apart the boring face.

old one was 1000% better looking

68style 09-09-2025 11:46 AM

Rearend looks a lot better, that saggy ass look of the last gen was horrible.

That said this car needed to stop existing 2 refreshes ago. Needs a complete redesign, different drivetrain or at the very least transmission options... and interior space is abysmal.

I took a recent IS300 AWD out for a test drive prior to moving to Calgary and walked away almost laughing if I hadn't been in shock at how ridiculously bad it was.

AstulzerRZD 09-09-2025 11:53 AM

Whoa - who is buying IS and Crown?
How did Toyota sell 20k of each?

BMW moved 90k 3/4 series, with 20k of them electric last year.

Badhobz 09-09-2025 12:04 PM

for the IS; everyone named ngyuen in the bay area ?

for the crown; bcrdukes and my coworker whos big on big sedans.

68style 09-09-2025 12:14 PM

So the Crown appeals to poor gay guys? I guess something had to replace the Chrysler Sebring convertible.

AstulzerRZD 09-09-2025 12:28 PM

I know Avis bought a ton of them to replace their Chrysler 300 and G70.

The refresh front looks like a Camry, what are they gonna start merging the two brands?

Yep it’s the default Premuim class option in US if your branch is big enough to carry them.

If they’re smaller, they’ll upgrade you Luxury class: a G70 2.5/3.3 or a CT4.

That's because Hyundai has cars designed by these guys. Just look at the list of cars they have designed.

Kia has this Lebanese Canadian.
