The big opening picture has a corresponding small rear quarter window. I wonder if they are indeed making a sliding door that's extra large. |
One side has an extra large opening for the version where the seat comes down for disabled ppl |
And that one extra-large opening is on the driver side? That's kind of weird. I wonder if the picture is mirrored then. |
https://www.gac-toyota.com.cn/vehicles/sienna i can't read this shit but maybe that one photo is super wide angle so it looks bigger? |
I think it's a super wide angle/fisheye lens that's kind of manipulated in post to make it look larger but still square |
Unless they made a longer wheelbase version I don't see how its possible, the door starts at the rear wheel in all the exterior shots with normal rear window sizes. Even correcting for a fisheye lens is just the outer edges, the whole center of the frame has been stretched |
Who needs a front camera for a normal vehicle? I put one on my Jeep for rock crawling but there's zero use for one otherwise. |

It probably doesn't help much for Richmond C9's though lol~ |
360 camera so nice for parallel parking, can get really close to car in front to maximize the turning space |
100%. Having actual cameras to see down to the millimeters of spacing between bumpers makes parallel parking so much faster. Way more effective than w/ traditional sonar. |
Yea then you scrape the shit out of the side of your car cuz you only focus on the back camera, and not look at your side mirrors, I've seen it happen irl |
360º camera is such a god-send. I esp like using the top view to help me when it comes to parking. Too bad I can't actually afford to buy any new cars that come standard with it -- and no, I won't buy a Nissan, even when many of their models come standard with 360º camera lol~ |

I got me tiny wife all this 360 camera / sensor / beeping / autonomous braking / etc etc etc garbage and she still drives it off curbs and scuffs wheels like Yray going offroading in his Range. I dont know why SSM CDC wants her RX. I wouldnt touch that thing with a 10 foot pole. Any female driven cars is an instant NOPE from me. |

Can you recommend one? My wife is constantly driving off and into curbs and the biggest problem is that she can't comprehend how it is happening. A 360 camera would at least show her what's happening lol. |

Now I hate parking my own car in any sort of remotely tricky situation bcos it is an old school zero parking camera/sensor shxtbox. Le wifey's SUV has a backup camera, and that makes parking somewhat easier. But I still hate doing it. |
Atoto S8 with the 360 camera basically kinda does this, when you back up it takes the image and draws a 180 degree image. https://www.atotodirect.com/cdn/shop...919&width=1296 |

Front camera is useful if you have a low car and carbon fiber lip |

No point. Cars already ruined. As long as she doesn’t ruin the other cars, her insanity is contained to that suv only. |
Well my biggest concern is that it might be knocking out the alignment, which will eventually cost us in tire wear. But I wouldn't know unless I committed to being ripped off for an alignment job first lol. So I have to sort of just guess at how hard the hit was... |
Went to Lucid at PC today to take a look at the Gravity that they have in the showroom. The vehicle looks smaller than I thought it would be. I was fully expecting it to be a massive chonker. I'm realistically interested in the Gravity Touring which isn't out yet, but still wanted to see the car. The square steering wheel would take some getting used to but wife had no complaints. The 3rd row is actually not bad and you still have some space in the trunk with the 3rd row up + you have the frunk. Not that we want a 7 seater. Coming from a X5 though, there's a couple things I observed that isn't the greatest. 1. It's not got a lot of height. Maybe it's how the trunk has no slope to it the opening seems short. Will need to actually measure it a bit. 2. Rear shade cannot go up independently of the windows. Since it's electric and it's operated by the same switch, it's window up, then shade up. Shade down then window down. Can't have the window down and shade up. 3. Rear windows only go down half way. I expect an SUV for the rear windows to go down most of the way. 4. Common theme with most EVs, but the sunroof doesn't open. 5. The windows are comparatively small. Wife commented it looks like a van and it's long. I told her it only seems long because there's no engine like our X5. The front is significantly shorter on the Gravity which gives you significantly more passenger volume. I just looked it up, it's 4 inches longer than the X5, the roof line is 4 inches lower, and it's the exact same width. Spoke with the people working there. They said the Touring is expected to come at the end of the year and priced at 113k starting. He said honestly, he expects production to start at the end of the year but don't expect to see the car until next year at least Spring. I asked if there's something smaller coming, he said there's a midsize in the pipelines but don't expect it until 2028. At this point, from a family standpoint, I must say I'm not terribly wowed by the Gravity. from just exploring the car. There is a ton of space and the passenger part of the vehicle really is a minivan. I hope when I get around to actually test driving the thing (couldn't today kids were with me and I'm not even sure they have test drives of the Gravity) I would be wowed by the dynamics and would be willing to overlook some of the day to day livability stuff. |
You can test drive in Chelsea today if you fly over |
Finally went by one of Xiaomi's stores today and had a look at their new cars. I like their designs overall and it's much more cohesive than what the Germans are currently putting out. The interior is very comfortable as well and feels like a watered down Porsche in tactile feel blended with Lexus levels of plushness. They were available to test drive but I don't have a valid DL there so it was a no-go. https://i.ibb.co/Cp0cgs98/YU7-Front.jpg https://i.ibb.co/99ttT7pJ/YU7-Rear.jpg https://i.ibb.co/jPLbBMhb/SU7-Front.jpg https://i.ibb.co/LhbfwxD5/SU7-Rear.jpg https://i.ibb.co/CptnQFGQ/SU7-Interior.jpg https://i.ibb.co/ZpGPsXxH/SU7-Ultra.jpg EV wagons also seem to be a thing as well: https://i.ibb.co/5xwDbWGj/AUDI-E5-Sportback-Front.jpg https://i.ibb.co/wXsYF9t/AUDI-E5-Sportback-Rear.jpg https://i.ibb.co/DDH3Fydt/AUDI-E5-Sportback-Side.jpg https://i.ibb.co/jZz3bHL3/Stelato.jpg However you feel about chinese EVs, they've definitely come a long way from this BYD E5(?) from 10 years ago: https://i.ibb.co/5h367ZHg/BYD-Original.jpg |
