My Iphone 7+ is on order from Rogers. I was debating on the S8 edge, but it may be in my best interest to see what Apple has to offer. It's been a few years since I've had one of their phones.

You didn't want to wait for the new iPhones later this year which supposedly will be more like the Samsung phones?

Agree with all of you for the battery decline. Now when my battery hits the 15% mark it'll shut off if I don't charge it right away.

My s7 keeps getting stuck at the home screen and tells me to wait for 60mins to restart, then after 60mins it starts again on another 60mins

I can't turn it off or boot it to safe mode/recovery mode but download mode works thought

Any idea what I should do/ can do before I get a new phone that's not Samsung (I do want to fix this before I get a new phone)

Try downloading smart switch, hooking up your s7 phone and performing a emergency recovery restore or initlization by entering IMEI and serial number. after that if it still doesnt work, try booting into recovery mode and factory restoring and clearing cache.
