If you have a smaller hand size, using the edge phone is a pain... you will pretty much hit the corners with your palm if you use it one handed...

The edge part when watching movies, will have this annoying light reflection line...

but it does have larger battery... the screen size is really not a big deal as the sides are pretty useless.. lol... but I still love my Edge... it stands out from traditional non edge phones...

Vansterdam 07-19-2016 05:07 PM

Im leaning towards the edge cause bigger battery lol

I went from Note 2 to Note 4 to S7 Edge, still somewhat having difficulty adjusting to a smaller size phone.

S7 is too small, I'd say go for Edge.

FerrariEnzo 07-19-2016 09:31 PM

Edge isnt a one handed friendly phone.. FYI!!

Vansterdam 07-19-2016 09:37 PM

well I had a note before and could use it one hand fine. the edge should be a bit smaller so I dont think i will have troubles using it with one hand, unless its the edge part of the screen is the reason why its harder to use with one hand.

I just hate the fact that it dosent have a removeable battery. I do alot of camping and music festivals so I like the quick-swap method

I'll be trading up my S7 Edge for a Note 7 as soon as it's available :)

go to a best buy or another store that has live demo's you can hold. i personally hate the edge screen as theres little bezel left on the sides to hold on to. i went for the standard s7 for that reason alone and i'm really damn happy with the phone. i've got the international model and i get about 19hrs usage from one charge with 4-5hrs screen on time.

its 2016 breh, ain't many phones left with a removable battery. either go the zero lemon brick case route or battery bank. i just bought a 10000 mah battery bank off amazon for $25. it'll charge my phone 3 times and it supports quickcharge 2.0

So I won a Galaxy X7 from a company event. I'm not sure if it's locked to Telus based on the business card attached to the box, or from what I've read, starts unlocked but it becomes carrier locked when a SIM is inserted. I'm currently with Rogers. If I get a nano SIM from Rogers, will I be alright using the phone on their network if the phone was apparently sourced from Telus?

Inaii 07-24-2016 06:21 PM

As long as it's carrier unlocked I don't see why there would be an issue. You could always take it with you to Rogers and ask if they could test it with one of their sims maybe? I'm not sure if they still do that though.

On an unrelated note, is anyone having issues with staying connected to wifi? My s4 never dropped but ever since I got my s7 it seems to have issues staying connected. I updated it last night (which mentioned a fix for wifi instability) but I haven't noticed an improvement yet. Just wondering if it's my phone or it's a common problem.

!MiKrofT 07-25-2016 11:32 PM

All S7's that I know of here are factory unlocked until the first SIM is inserted and then it locks.

Vansterdam 07-28-2016 06:53 AM

ended up with the S7 =D

whats the best case you guys are using for it? I need one for daily use and one for camping/vacation

also, a place to get a good screen protector? I suck at installing them. rather get someone to do it for me lol

MikeyStyle 07-28-2016 04:52 PM

i like the rugged armor from spigen
http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/080...g?v=1456358860

as for screen protector, i got mine from ghost armor with the matte finish at metrotown

Gucci Mane 07-28-2016 06:00 PM

i love spigen products but i'd hardly call that a rugged case. i've got spigens thin fit case for day to day use and a UAG case for when i feel like i need a little more protection.

Is anyone else having problems with wifi using this phone? It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting randomly.

Inaii 08-04-2016 09:16 PM

^I posted about having the same problem a few posts up. I guess it's an s7 thing?

Amped 08-05-2016 09:56 PM

Ahh sorry. I missed that.

Also, is anyone else having problems with mirrorlink? I feel like I'm having so many problems with this phone.

Simplex123 08-06-2016 09:06 AM

What screen protector are you guys using for your Edge? I got a skinomi techskin and it 3/4 corners are peeling when I'm using a case.

I'd prefer full coverage, but there aren't many choices

I've been having this issue as well but then I checked my WiFi settings and it was set on Keep Wifi on "only during charging" so the WiFi would disconnect everytime my phone turned off and went to sleep. I changed it to keep WiFi on always and now have no issues.

Maybe try turn off Smart Network Switch?

I had problems with connecting to my camera's Wifi when it was turned on.
