Not sure if I should chance the Lemon Elderberry one. I'm not that adventurous, hee hee.......

The Lemon Elderberry one is fantastic, definitely give it a chance!

Personally found the Strawberry Rhubarb one a bit too intense at first, but it was better the second time.

Got one sitting on my countertop, haven't opened it yet. But that sounds delicious!

Went to my favourite TJ's in the University District (Seattle) yesterday, where they were giving out samples of pumpkin danish kringles. Damn, I used to hate pumpkin, but this pastry is pretty darn good. I can't wait for the Christmas one with cream cheese.

Have you tried their Halloween/Pumpkin Joe Joe cookies?

MG1 12-11-2018 11:46 PM

Another item of note.

So smooth and delicious. Triple crème cheese, man. Imported from France. It's one of those once it's gone, it's gone............ while supplies last.

I found some gems in the pantry. It expired last month, so had to open the pouch. Whenever I see something new at TJ's, I have to try it. These little guys are amazingly good.

Dark Chocolate Toasted Sesame Caramels.

Is it the good location, stocked aisles, large store, or cute workers that deemed this your favourite TJ? Just wondering :considered:

MG1 08-29-2019 07:19 PM

Not any of the above. Hint. It’s near a University. J/K I just like the atmosphere.

I think I like all TJ’s locations, because it’s not overrun by Fobby Asians or other coloured folk. Good ol’ white store. Being the token Asian is what I’m used to.

MG1 10-24-2019 04:36 AM

Bumping this thread.

Peruvian Potato Chips. A little on the expensive side, but it's from Peru (Andes). It's different enough. The flavour is more earthy. Peru is the birthplace of the potato.

What's Good at Trader Joe's?: Trader Joe's Peruvian Potato Chips

Another favourite of mine is the freeze-dried strawberries. Yum! I pour Tropicana Strawberry Peach Drink (cheapest at No Frills) into a tall fountain glass and put these strawberry delights into it. I let it soak for a few hours in a really cold fridge. Strawberry Fields Forever!

I was at TJ last Monday and I tried their sample of the week. I thought it was pulled pork, but it turned out to be jackfruit in BBQ sauce. Man, that BBQ sauce was very good. Best Vegan BBQ Pork ever lol. The recipe was created by one of the workers there.

Drain two cans of Green Jackfruit in Brine and bake for 20 - 25 minutes at 400 degrees. Smash the jackfruit with a fork. Combine with one bottle of warmed up Organic Kansas City Style BBQ Sauce. A can of jackfruit is $1.99 USD and a bottle of that BBQ sauce is $2.99. The sample was ripple chips with this BBQ Jackfruit concoction used as a dip.

Been a while.................

Anyway, tried the Maple Streusel Bread. That shit is intense. If you're a diabetic, this thing will send you into a coma by just smelling it. Open the bag and you can smell it two rooms over. So powerful, my cooler bag smelled like maple syrup for most of the day. Not sure if it's a cake or a bread. In any case, drizzle some butter on it and it's pretty close to what I imagine heaven to be.

Got a bottle of Sugar Plum Sparkling something or another. Haven't tried it yet, but seems interesting enough.

Got the usual bags of Corn Dippers. I missed it so muchee.

Almost forgot. I got the last bottle of Honey Crisp Pressed Apple Juice, along with a bottle of unfiltered apple juice. Nothing like pulp. Slides down the throat and hits the spot.

Vansterdam 12-08-2021 07:09 PM

if anyone can help me grab some seasonings please lmk :)

missed a few that I forgot to pick up from a few weeks back but got the umami and the elote one and their pretty bomb

South African Smoke Seasoning is no longer available. Some people say it's a "seasonal" thing. As in the summer when it's BBQ time. In my books, there's no such thing as a BBQ season. BBQ is a 365.25 days a year, thing.

Anyway, I just used the last hoarded bottle I had. Butt...............

Not going to get it via Amazon, either...................

Dark chocolate peanut butter cups are pretty good too.

Mac and cheese balls were surprisingly good as well.

Hehe 12-09-2021 11:52 AM

Went there yesterday. The chocolate Brooklyn Babka is pretty good.

So many good to awesome things at TJ's. Too late now, but their Gingerbread Cake and Cookie Mix, is so fricken amazing. My daughter makes these things using two boxes of the mix. Her friends look forward to getting some every year. Well, due to the border closure and all, they haven't had her whatever they're called, in three years. I went for the last three weeks looking for them. All sold out. It's one of those things that sell out in a matter of weeks and once it's gone, it's gone - till next year. When I went to Seattle a week ago, the location next to the University had one. Only because they hoarded some for their company party or something like that. So when I asked this one employee, he said they were all sold out weeks ago. Another employee jumped in and said, "Wait, we have one!" I guess one box is better than none.

Another highlighted item in the Fearless Flyer, was the Brookie. Half cookie, half brownie thing. Just had one. Not that great. I would call it a Trader Joe's fail. No wAnder they had so many left.

Kringles.......... I mentioned them before. I saw them the first time I went to TJ's in Bellingham this year. Did I buy one? Noooooooo................... I thought, I'll get it next time. Big mistake. No TJ from here to Portland has them now. Another one of those gone, it's gone. At least the Almond ones. Butt............ you can order them on-line from the folks that make them, in Racine, Wisconsin. They do ship to Canada......... expensive as hell, though. They freeze well, so I'm kicking myself for not getting it in Bellingham while I could.

They're baaaaaaack..........

Synergistically Seasoned Popcorn. I picked up a bag on Wednesday's little trip to Bellingham.

https://www.eatingwell.com/article/7...soned-popcorn/

Oh, they had some Raspberry Kringle at the Bellingham location. I'm not a raspberry fan, so I ignored them.

Wish I bought more, if anybodys willing to bring a few packs back for me next time y'all down there please holla

MG1 04-12-2022 10:02 AM

Wednesday before long weekend.............

You gotta try the Jack in her Box taco. For $1.29 for two, they're not bad. I mean, it's probably full of pink slime, but just to say you've had it, is a badge of honour. Also, check out Sonic Drive-In located in Ferndale, Wa. It's on the right hand side of the I-5. Just to say you've been there.

https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restauran...ashington.html

Since we're on the topic of Ferndale...........

Okay, back to the regular programming.

The popcorn isn't what I remember it to be. I guess each batch is what it is. The bag I got last week was a little spicier than I remember. Must be old age. My taste buds have changed.
