lmao just looked at the 2012 draft

drafted 210 overall...
Jaycob Megna
Jaycob Megna hockey statistics and profile at hockeydb.com

also didn't realize that 8 of top 10 picks from that draft were dmen

punkwax 03-21-2017 12:00 PM

You know that's not Jayson Megna right...

6o4__boi 03-21-2017 12:14 PM

yeah i know

i didn't realize he had a brother
looks like a projected depth sized dman for the Ducks

Nabatron 03-21-2017 12:17 PM

its not like we will get 1st over all anyways if we some how get 2nd or 3rd pick I would be pumped but doubt it with canucks luck. I just don't want them to draft a dman unless he is an all out stud...

Stop using up all the chances, save some for the actual lottery lol

6o4__boi 03-21-2017 12:29 PM

hahahahahaha what the actual fuck

Nabatron 03-21-2017 12:35 PM

^what is the purpose of this?

6o4__boi 03-21-2017 12:37 PM

probably to protect Dorsett from the expansion draft?

LOL

kinda clever...but i don't think the NHL will let this fly

pastarocket 03-21-2017 12:37 PM

Hmmm, Dim Jim is actually thinking outside of the box if he tries to put protect Biega as a forward instead of a d-man.

Does Dim Jim realize that the expansion draft is not like some Yahoo fantasy hockey pools where you can protect an extra player with the "utility" spot if you're playing in a keeper league? :lawl:

dbaz 03-21-2017 01:19 PM

would mean an exposed list of dorsett, biega, sbisa and bachman
i dont think vegas would pick biega or bachman which would mean an extra 3mil for cap

also liljegrend has dropped to around 6 to 10 on lots of draft lists. missed 2 months due to mono and hasnt been playing good since then
button has him at 7
nhl central scouting has him as 7th european skater.
hockey writers 6
etc

Like how Virtanen has been left behind in Utica :lawl:

Ch28 03-21-2017 01:31 PM

Looks like Dorsett isn't eligible for the expansion draft

Injured Players

Players with potential career-ending injuries who have missed the previous 60+ consecutive games due to an injury, do not meet the criteria set forth by the league in respect to the minimum exposure requirements for players, and in certain cases these players may even be deemed as exempt from the Expansion Draft selection process."
He is missing more than 60 games this season, so that makes him not eligible.

dbaz 03-21-2017 01:34 PM

thought dorsett had hit 20+ games. only 14 lol. will be 64 consecutive games.. canucks luck. gaunce prob gets taken then

6o4__boi 03-21-2017 01:43 PM

that's too bad

Gaunce is a decent young fourth liner
guy can't seem to catch a break in the NHL, but with decent linemates, I think he's at least a 10-15 goal guy

Yup, and when he finally catches that break and is promoted to the third line, he gets injured and now Skille will be back in for tonight's game.

Jmac 03-21-2017 03:44 PM

You have to expose a minimum of 2 forwards and 1 defenseman who are under contract next season and have played at least 70 games over the previous 2 seasons or at least 40 games this season. You also have to expose at least 1 eligible goaltender.

Anyone who isn't on the protected list who has played 3 or more pro seasons and doesn't have a career-ending/threatening injury is automatically exposed.

punkwax 03-21-2017 04:06 PM

Yikes.

Does it actually deter teams from tanking, though? I don't think it has much of an impact.

IMO, they should:
- change the trade deadline from 40 days before the end of the season to 90 days before the end of the season.
- change the salary cap and floor from +/- 15% of the midpoint to +/- 10% of the midpoint
- remove ability to retain salary on expiring contracts

These would all reduce tanking substantially.

murd0c 03-21-2017 06:52 PM

The coyotes and and devils won today. If we do win we at least don't lose ground but sadly we don't gain any

Nabatron 03-21-2017 06:54 PM

Amuse 03-21-2017 07:00 PM
