considering Patrick doesn't have the offense of a matthews/eichel etc id go with the dman.
retain on the sedins, and ship them to a team that has 2 shots at a cup, and acquire forward prospects that way with an agreement to re-sign them after if they are interested.

IMO Jake's destroying himself. Yeah he's trying to play responsible hockey first maybe worried about making a mistake now and getting benched after. But when he's been given the chance now he hasn't shown that the coach can float him a couple screw ups because his upside is worth it. With all the whiny he's doing under Willie, can you imagine what a coach like Torts would do to this kid?

I imagine the poor showing at the World Jr.s has played into his current issues. All the other fan bases jumped on him. Its more about your prospects against your rivals prospects than it is about national pride.

My biggest beef if that it doesn't appear WD is doing enough to develop the young and is relying on the "veterans" to try to win games.

But not all the blame is with WD. Benning's decisions haven't been the best and he took over the reins of a messed up team thanks to Nonis and Gillis.

If I was WD, maybe it is time to move the twins to the second PP and look at using Boho and some of the youth on the top PP. I know players need to earn their chances, but Virtanen is a shooter and should be positioned to succeed on the PP too.
