Let's hope we get a good draft pick this year and hope to draft a centre that can replace hank. Bo can but someone who's more pure offence.

vegas cant. 7 protected by canucks: sedin, sedin, Eriksson, sutter, baertschi, granlund and one of boucher/dorsett. rest of our forwards are ineligible or ufa trash like megna and chaput

it seems the canucks are short on the forwards exposed list though. unless someone is re-signed

Ch28 03-14-2017 04:56 PM

Aston-Reese wasn't projected to be anything more than a bottom 6 guy. Doesn't matter where he signs tbh

I'm pretty sure we're protecting Horvat ...

7 forwards: D. Sedin (NMC), H. Sedin (NMC), L. Eriksson (NMC), B. Sutter, S. Baertschi, M. Granlund, B. Horvat
3 defensemen: A. Edler, C. Tanev, E. Gudbranson
1 goaltender: J. Markstrom

Forwards exposed: D. Dorsett, B. Gaunce, J. Cramarossa, R. Boucher, M. Zalewski, M. Chaput
Defensemen exposed: L. Sbisa, A. Biega, A. Pedan, T. Nilsson
Goaltender exposed: R. Bachman

highfive 03-14-2017 07:01 PM

They're prob going to claim sbisa, gaunce, chaput or maybe dorsett

Mike Oxbig 03-14-2017 07:54 PM

Do we have to protect Eriksson? Or is it due to NMC he has to be protected?

Anyone with an NMC must be protected unless they agree to waive the NMC.

Mike Oxbig 03-14-2017 08:04 PM

We will probably see this next season

D. Sedin, H. Sedin, L. Eriksson
S. Baertschi, B. Horvat, Boesner
N. Goldobin, B. Sutter, M. Granlund

Only if Willie isn't around...

Jmac 03-14-2017 10:00 PM

Well, Boeser will get some games in garbage time here down the stretch, but I think he'd benefit from some time in the AHL next season.

6o4__boi 03-15-2017 08:13 AM

Guess we'll see how he does in camp and pre-season.
I would assume there'd be some kinda pressure from ownership to keep Boeser up.

I was reading about the 2018 draft...didn't realize Tkachuk has another kid. Brady Tkachuk is projected to be a top 10 pick as well.

Nabatron 03-15-2017 08:24 AM

miss on the first tkachuk well I guess canucks can get a do over but I doubt they pick him up. If someway canucks drop to last in the league they can legitimately have a first shot at top 3 in the draft. If you look at their remaining schedule its not looking good for them to pick up points. Also the yotes are 5 points back of them so lets hope canucks lose some more.

murd0c 03-15-2017 08:26 AM

I'm surprised this hasn't been said yet but Dim Jim had a meeting with WD yesterday to basically tell him the season is over and its time to give the young kids a lot more ice time which is of course opposite to what he's been doing. No word on what WD thinks of this but he can't be happy about it.

6o4__boi 03-15-2017 08:39 AM

Hahah...Willie can suck it and quit if he doesn't wanna play the kids

I'm glad JB told him to fuck off. The JB of 2017 is actually doing a decent job as a GM so far.

Another great Tribune article. Man, that Avs/Wings rivalry was legendary. Hard to believe they're both bottom feeders now.

murd0c 03-15-2017 08:59 AM

WOW I don't understand how that has been 20 years since that happened. I remember sitting that home and watching the series since I was a massive AVS fan back then. What great insight, damn I love these articles.

highfive 03-15-2017 10:48 AM

I wonder how Vegas can't pick later than 6th pick going to affect our tank plan.

Same with the SJ pick. If they win the cup, it's technically 31st pick.

6o4__boi 03-15-2017 11:00 AM

i wouldn't hold out hope on a Canucks tank plan. Knowing em, they'll get hot enough at the same time to fuck up their draft standing.

afaic they're picking in the 5-10 range. Expecting otherwise is just waiting for a letdown.

Lindenning have both said they've had meetings with Willie to play the young kids more. This has happened a few times over the season already, so you can bet there is a huge rift in ideas between Lindenning and Willie. Obviously, it's in the best interest for Lindenning to play the youngsters more, because they're the future of the franchise. It doesn't benefit Willie at all to play the youngsters, because it's his believe that they suck and they'll continue to lose. The only real tangible measurement of his ability to coach is via win/losses, and that's why he has been continually trying to win, despite what his superiors and the fans want.

[edit] That Avs/Wings rivalry will probably be the high point in terms of NHL hockey for all of us. Everything about their games was just pure awesomeness

Nabatron 03-15-2017 03:40 PM

bye bye willie u old fuck

Jmac 03-15-2017 04:07 PM

I don't like upper management telling the coach how to coach. Just fire him already, he's incompetent regardless of who he plays.

Armind 03-15-2017 04:08 PM

I don't know. I feel like Willie is one of those low risk old fucks who's trying to not lose instead of trying to win.

Fuck if I'm trying to win, I would put more offensive younger guys out there. I'd put Stecher and Subban on my PP.

Why the hell would I play Megna and Chaput over more offensiver players?
