Miller is on Team Miller. He needs to make sure someone offers him big money for next contract.

Canucks signed Drew Shore out of NLA. 24 points through 80 NHL games w/ FLA/CGY.

Has to clear waivers since he was signed out of Europe mid-season. Doubt anyone takes him since he'd be ineligible for the playoffs, anyways.

WTF why.... Calgary passed on this guy awhile ago.

EDIT: Oh only for this season. Maybe to put some warm bodies on the bench. Some one got hurt again? Anyways, I think this leaves us with 49/50 contracts? So either Boeser signs after his season ends, or Gaudette.

Asking that question for Cramarossa makes better sense.

Calgary passed on baerstchi and granlund. Happens with lots of young players but you never know until you play them.

But this guy is 26 already. We just signed another Megna/Chaput.

pastarocket 03-12-2017 07:20 PM

What is with Dim Jim in signing these mid 20s players???

He thinks Willie and his coaching staff can develop this guy into a decent player?

Willie's got no time for that. He's busy playing Megna. :fuckthatshit:

theres recall limits after the trade deadline and canucks have used them all. so due to all the players out they have to sign people

It looks like he's using Miller's old pants, Lack's old glove, and the stock thigh wraps for some retail pads.

Seeing the last thing against NHL shooters makes me wince in pain on his behalf. Being an equipment manager/athletic trainer looks like a riot. I wonder how much they actually make.

6o4__boi 03-13-2017 08:09 AM

damn, if Canucks could actually get Boeser and Gaudette signed for next year and Willie is gone, it might actually be a year to look forward to

plus chance of signing Dahlen to AHL contract and maybe seeing him here on recalls

we might finish higher than Vegas in the standings next year after all

so burrows and hansen have already made comments that basically point out that willie is running a shit show.

burrows- happy to be playing for a team where everyones buying into the system

hansen- glad everyone in the room is in sync

also demko 7-0 in last 7 starts. .965 sv% 2 so, 1.00ga. hes singlehandedly dragging the comets into the playoff picture

6thGear. 03-13-2017 08:56 AM

I find it hard to believe guys like Hansen and Burrows would talk shit after leaving.

highfive 03-13-2017 10:22 AM

Shore is in the lineup today. Said he's going to play wing to get use to the system.

Over/under on his ice time vs goldie's first game? haha

Agreed, or their comments were taken out of context, as usual.

6o4__boi 03-13-2017 12:20 PM

is goldie in tonight?

that'll probably determine if i'm gonna bother

dbaz 03-13-2017 12:21 PM

goldie out. no strength still. thats from yesterday but would assume today too

found the burrows quote - “It’s so fun to come into a team that has a total buy-in on what the coach is selling.”

Liquid_o2 03-13-2017 12:53 PM

God damn. Virtanen hit the 50 game mark with Utica. Has 14 points and a -7. Yah yah I know, the kid is only 20 years old, but for a 6th overall pick who spent all of last season in the NHL, looks like he has completely regressed this year. Hoping he can put in a strong summer and figure it out next year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man

A straw man is a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while refuting an argument that was not advanced by that opponent.[1] One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man".

6o4__boi 03-13-2017 01:00 PM

I think that year they spent with the Canucks really fucked up their careers so far. Both him and McCann are struggling to make an impact in the minors.
To some degree, I was ok with McCann spending the entire year with the Canucks in a limited role but JV should've been sent back to junior and developed slowly.

Doubt either of them will be regular NHLers next year...but if they still can't make an impact as AHLers by end of next season, they're busts in my books.

McKenzie: "The expectation is that as soon as the season ends for UND, the #Canucks will sign Brock Boeser to an NHL contract."

Meh.. long shot to reach the NHL regularly. But the more young players in the system the better. You never know when the next Chris Tanev will show up.

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the Canucks have signed 20-year-old defenceman Jalen Chatfield of the Windsor Spitfires to a three-year entry-level contract.

"Jalen is a good two-way defenceman that sees the ice well and makes good decisions in all three zones," said General Manager Jim Benning. "He moves the puck well and can join the rush. Jalen is another addition to our young prospect pool and we look forward to his continued development playing in Windsor."

In 60 games with the Windsor Spitfires this season, Chatfield ranks third among defenceman in points (28) and goals (8), and second in assists (20). His three power-play goals and two overtime goals lead Windsor defenceman. In his second OHL season in 2015.16, the 6-1, 187-pound defenceman collected 10 goals and 27 assists (10-27-37) in 68 games for the Spitfires. He also added two goals (2-0-2) in 5 playoff games.

A native of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Chatfield joined Windsor as a free agent in June 2014 and has suited up for 188 regular season games over three seasons, registering 86 points (19-67-86) and 136 penalty minutes.
