K, so is one positive about this list of countries who got hit by tariffs that companies who use sweat shops in places like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cambodia, etc. be punished and maybe they will be forced to move their factories to USA? I mean it wouldn't be a bad thing, if that happened, would it? Yes, I know Trump is not doing it because he cares about environmental concerns. |
How many Americans want to work in a god damn textile factory? How many want to work in a factory in general? How many businesses want to pay US minimum wage for these workers? How many Americans want to pay $80 for a basic t-shirt? I'd bet the numbers for all is fucking close to zero. |
Yah ... but the mantra is, 'Bring the jobs back to USA'. It'd be like our Tim Horton's, McDonald's ... bring the jobs back to USA and then hire Foreign Workers to staff them.:ahwow: |
Yes but who wants to work these jobs? Who is going to pay for these jobs? This dumb fuck is still living in the 70s when people had a factory job that could put food on the table and raise a family. The country has moved on decades and is not set up to move backwards down the value chain. WHat's next? he's going to tarrif agricultural products to bring "Bring back Farm jobs to the US"?? Quote:

If those factories move to the US they will never sell another product, unless, US completely unravels worker protections and wage standards, which is already happening in Florida with the removal of the minor workers protections that wouldn't allow people under 18 to work overnight. So good news. The US may get those factories back. Bad news is the people working in them will be getting paid the same as their Vietnamese counterparts that had the jobs before. Looks great for worker productivity though. For example a fender standard strat made in Mexico is about $850 American standard is about $2200. Most people who play them back to back (professionals) will say either there is no difference or the Mexican strat plays better. 100% of that added cost is labour, and usually, it's worse. |
whitev70r Watch this, even just the first 2 minutes it explains how insane chasing "factory jobs" is: |
Trump is upset that America is giving dollars they can make out of thin air for tangible goods. They are literally getting resources, services, and tangible goods for bits set to a 1 instead of a zero. Did you see how he calculated the other countries "tariffs'? It was just a percentage difference in trade volume (probably with a dubious inclusion criteria) with some kind of fudge factor based on their personal emotions they have for that country. Plus, he was just holding some kind of presentation card as if they had a few kicking around and he grabbed that one. They had months (years?) to prep for "liberation day" and all they could do was have the President of the USA holding a card beside him that the camera's could hardly see? I can't imagine how any serious person could take him seriously. Absolute clown show. |

You can always say yes and admit you wouldn't really mind some cock and balls on a woman. But if no, why not? |

I know you do because you're easily programmed and you get an endorphin rush for feeling virtuous. I bet in 2014 you loved Elon but now he bad, right? This is like the opposite of Obama who everyone was eager to suck off but he turned out to be not only the deporter in chief, but the Drone king, as well. Mark my words, everything Trump is doing will make the US a better place to live and work in. Time will tell whether I'm right or wrong, despite our opinions or your derangement. |
I never liked musk actually. You can go back as far as you want to find that out. You know what, you don't even have to participate in saying they are a woman, but you have the option to A) shut the fuck up about it cause it doesn't affect you B) not try to justify Elon treating his child like shit because a straight guy wouldn't fuck them. Do I think Vivian is female? Honestly, no. But if that's how they want to be treated, I absolutely will, because it doesn't affect me negatively, it affects them positively, and I don't need to try and gotcha someone who's done nothing to hurt anyone. It's easy not to be a piece of shit for some of us, regardless of what we believe. Like I don't believe in Jesus but if someone says merry Christmas I'm not gonna respond with "Jesus isn't real." I'm gonna say thanks you too. |

I wouldn't insult or attack "Vivian" at all, I'm not talking to him nor would I seek out to insult him for having delusions. But I will call this BS out when you use it as a crutch to attacking the guy who did more for the environment than everyone here, employs more people than anyone here, made more people wealthy than anyone here and is doing more to push humanity forward than anyone here through SpaceX, Tesla and everything else he's done. I would never make the claim that he's perfect but the sheer amount of media-fed narratives flowing through here in this thread is absolutely pathetic. Quote:
I don't care that it affects him positively. You know what affects people positively? Giving them everything they want but that does not translate to being helpful to them. You know what is actually helpful? Reality and honesty. Does this sudden surgency of "trans" stuff give you no pause or make you ponder it's origin? Quote:
Again, I didn't insult or demean "Vivian" I only spoke my thoughts to you. Quote:
You: I don't believe in Jesus and someone else going "You fucking piece of shit, he IS real ok, it doesn't hurt to believe, now say the words!". |

If you’re so sure you’re right about everything there’s not much need to post about it is there? Just need to sit back in your self satisfaction waiting for it all to unfold just like daddy Trump and uncle Elon told you it would. You’re not having a discussion of any sort, just come by to tell everyone you think they’re stupid and how wrong their thinking is and how right you are. Pretty insecure aren’t ya? This administration is such a joke. I mean honestly this dumbfuck couldn’t think of literally anything better than carrying out a giant cardboard chart nobody could read and then awkwardly half hold up next to himself during this announcement? Is he in Grade 5 presenting show and tell? Absolutely ridiculous. Complete and utter embarrassment every day. |
US Senate passes bill aimed at stopping Trump tariffs on Canada 4 Republicans voted this way, allowing it to pass |

https://i.imgur.com/cpjzcr3.png That is how stupid Trump is, and people who vote and support him. Literal idiots (and as we see in this thread, they are creepy perverts too) |

Someone else figured out how Trump's team likely came up with this strategy... That's why the results are so fucky, and with a minimum of 10% |

I will forgive the "Nights & Weekends Editor" at Salon. Maybe he should find a factory job instead though :troll: |

Also, seems like for Conservatives, trickle-down economics only happens when you reduce taxes for the rich but doesn't apply to tariffs |
