Going back to what some people say in athletes are overpaid etc

Imagine you’re a horvat or a stecher. You’ve already played like 4+ meaningless games, flown from Vancouver to LA, Utah, Kelowna, etc playing a physical af game every night the stress etc that comes from underperforming or just trying to make the team

And NOW you have to start playing 82 and more lol.

Fuck it’s probably stressful af for most players. It’s way more work than your average job

The stress must be crazy. I work an office job and there are performance reviews done between Managers and their direct reports. Imagine being an athlete and your performance review is essentially done between you and 10's/100's of thousands of fans instead lol.

^and you better not relax in the off season and show up to training camp like Jake Dotchin or Keith Tkachuk.

belka 09-30-2018 07:26 AM

There is a good chance the Canucks might finish with a 0-82 record this year.

That's why we get paid peanuts compared to the millions and millions they make

That’s what I’m thinking........ Have low expectations, so anything’s a bonus. Where’s emperor? He still around?

whitev70r 09-30-2018 01:23 PM

If you go by the standings of preseason, then there is very high chance host team of draft gets 1st pick.

snowball 09-30-2018 01:36 PM

This team should've received the 1st pick 3 years in a row :lawl:. Might happen this year as the Sedins are no longer around to prop us up anymore.

Not one single +1 player. The tank will be good this year

Jmac 09-30-2018 02:31 PM

The Sedins finished 15th on the team in preseason scoring and had the best +/-.

And pick 4th overall

whitev70r 09-30-2018 07:28 PM

Tom Wilson ... what a douchebag

Jmac 09-30-2018 09:50 PM

Wilson is probably going to get the book thrown at him because of his history, but NHL is so inconsistent with this shit. We've seen pretty much this same play get 0 games before.

murd0c 10-01-2018 08:44 AM

WOW Gagner put on waivers, I didn't expect that but good move.

68style 10-01-2018 09:11 AM

Yah me neither... he will probably get picked up:

roastpuff 10-01-2018 09:42 AM

Good, Gagner was no better than Goldobin.

Jmac 10-01-2018 10:38 AM

Gagner is better than Schaller ...

highfive 10-01-2018 01:56 PM

Rather have Archibald than Schaller in the line up.

I doubt he will be picked up on waivers though.

Schaller is cheaper for pressbox duties.

And?

Gagner in AHL + Schaller in NHL is the same cap hit and salary as Schaller in the AHL + Gagner in the NHL.

You only get a maximum of $0.925k cap relief for sending a player to the minors.

Edit: Also, the Canucks could've papered Boeser to the minors for a day, put Dorsett on LTIR, and called Boeser back up on opening day without risking Gagner at all.

Bouncing Bettys 10-02-2018 01:23 PM

I'm hearing Gagner is going to be loaned to the Marlies?
