I am big on the Evergreens as Seattle's name:
- Washington's nickname is "The Evergreen State"
- it's a resilient green plant which holds its colour through all sorts of weather all year long. Plenty of sports symbolism could come from that.
- it's not trendy or gimicky like some of the other names
- I imagine nothing would piss off Evergreen State College students more than being indirectly associated with a corporate contact sport rife with "white privilege" | Evergreen would be a great name, but I worry that their colors are going to be far too similar to Vancouver's colors. As much as I dislike the Predators colors, at least they broke away from the standard red, blue, and green that everyone wears.
That said, their history is strong. The early 1900's Metropolitans, the WHA Totems, and the current PCAHA minor hockey group, the Seattle Thunderbirds. https://i.redd.it/thtur24eoh221.jpg
It looks like the colors have almost always been forest and ocean based. Quote:

Nothing says a joke of a franchise like constantly changing your primary logo. | This picture is a little old, but I had it on my shop wall for a lot of years and it is pertinant to our conversation. https://wiki.ubc.ca/images/0/05/Vanc...nucks_1000.jpg
4 distinctly different logos since 1970, and a ton of color changes. Granted, the late 90's were a strange time to be a hockey fan as everyone was creating both good, and terrible jerseys.
I still like Tanker McTankface though.
