^ It’s kind of a first though? I’ve never really seen the league or any league say flat out its officials fucked the pooch on something.

I mean look at the NFL with the New Orleans call and the league ended up chickening out on publicly admitting the officials fucked it up.

Gumby 04-27-2019 03:47 PM

Not only did the league admit the officials messed up, they even “punished” the refs involved by not assigning further work for the rest of the season.

I suppose it is a first. Hadn't thought about that. But, i mean, it's a new american franchise with cup asperations. Would they care as much if it were one of our canadian teams...?

No.

They’d likely reward them instead.

Vlassic waiting for an apology from the NHL on a missed icing call. That lead to a goal for the Avs. Lol
Perhaps the GWG (im a sharks hater)

CBJ Hold on for the victory :joy:

^^
Cool I guess but as much as Pavel Datsyuk was boss, at 40 meh unless he's Jagr.

68style 05-01-2019 07:47 AM

Why would he want to play for a team that's going literally nowhere.

Doesn't Arizona own his rights?

The provies and athletties were must reads for me after every game. He will be missed.

Bouncing Bettys 05-01-2019 08:52 AM

Wow. Heart failure.

I had a childhood friend collapse on the ice, mid game, with a heart attack and die at just 26 years old. He was a pro athlete in peak form, so it can happen to anyone.

sonick 05-01-2019 09:04 AM

Holy shit, that is unexpected. Sad.

I think sometimes it’s genetics. No matter how fit you are, that’s how your body is.

Look at trump at his age eating McDonald’s and kfc.

pastarocket 05-01-2019 10:07 AM

RIP Botchford. FeelsBadMan

punkwax 05-01-2019 10:44 AM

Sad news indeed. I didn’t have a lot of time for Botch 5-10 years ago but he was really starting to grow on me. I’ll miss his rants. RIP

whitev70r 05-01-2019 11:28 AM

Shocked to hear about Botch. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

Liquid_o2 05-01-2019 11:35 AM

Didn't really listen to him a whole lot, but terrible news. Can't even imagine what his family is going through.

Doesn't seem like much of a punishment.... maybe not assigning work for the next season or two. Now that's a punishment.

sonick 05-01-2019 11:50 AM

Athletic has permanently unlocked all his articles: https://theathletic.com/author/jason-botchford/

He’s under contract with Arizona until June 30. UFA on July 1.

RIP Botch

highfive 05-01-2019 03:49 PM

Is Datsyuk going back as a player or management?
