^ Always thought Babcock was way overrated. He won 1 SC in Detroit ... 1. Quennville won 3 in Chicago. So he won 2 golds with the Canadian all star roster. Would like to see him get turfed in TO and banished to Buffalo.

Heard it all before. Same old broken record. The Modano point is new from him, but the timing of it is odd given that the Steve Dangle Podcast was discussing it last week. I don't see how he can not care about the players, yet he insists on Marleau playing every game, seemingly to keep his Iron Man streak alive. He won't even put him on the 4th line. Don't get me wrong, I would have been fine with firing Babcock after this season. I can see why players like Commodore would dislike Babcock, but he is unhinged.

No one is going to pay the price required for Marner, offer sheets in the $10,500,000+ mill range require compensation of FOUR first round draft picks. Not going to happen.

I can definitely see it happening to Kapanen though. Canucks should be all in on that, if he could be had at less than $4.2 the compensation is only a 2nd round pick.

GMs, and especially owners, don’t approve of doing those kinds of things as it artificially inflated player values throughout the league, including their own players.

Yah there's no chance any GM in the league, unless he had some kind of blood feud with another GM is going to risk alienating everyone else by doing something just to put another team in a bad financial position. No one is ever going to pick up their calls again after that.

There is just that GM who could do this .... Lou Amoriello from NYI. Imagine the drama!

If NYI offer sheet Marner, it'd be win win either way.

This is a terrible rule in the NHL rulebook. Video review is not allowed if the refs do not see the hand pass?? :fulloffuck:

becuz IIHF rule book does state that the referees can call for video review, OR the video goal judge can as well

i believe an example of the IIHF rule was played out during the women's world championship final between USA and Finland.

But in the NHL.. thats just bullshit... and I get that the sharks are "unlucky" over the years

Referees can at least look at the arena video screen and the NHL's video replays from the league centre to check for a hand pass.

That is one of the reasons why there is video review in the league. The game is so fast that it is easy for refs to miss something. Use the tools available so that they can get the whole picture of a play. Remove the guesswork for the refs.
