thinking of buying some masks online and shipping it to family in China. Anybody do it yet? What company did you use to send it and did it make it there? |

If i was in china i would be using a 3M Respirator than the N95 masks like this https://www.forestry-suppliers.com/I...8_23259_p1.jpg I use this respirator for work and it forms a perfect seal around your face so u wont be breathing in anything airborne through your mouth and nose and also with the Pink P100 Filter, itll last 30 days/40hrs of use compared to the single use N95. Which imo are only useful for u to stop touching yourself in the face. In canada you can find the lower model respirator for like $25 with filter, ive seen them on Ali for as low as $20. Seems to be cheaper yet better alternative. Its something to think about if you dont wanna catch the disease and possibly die. |
ive always wanted a gasmask of some sorts in case SHTF or some crazy ass emergency any recommendations |
yeah, I bought a 3M 6200 + a bunch of N95 (5n11) filters just in case. P100 (62923 / 62926) is for tear gas and people who are in the medical camp. beside respirators, you should get eye wear and something can protect your ears. Never thought of buying one of these in the past 30 years, now it is different. |

Gorilla Surplus on Broadway........... Place is awesome. Need ideas for Halloween? This is the place. https://www.camouflage.ca/search?q=gas+mask Read descriptions carefully. Some are for costume use only, lol. Like you, I've always wanted protection from airborne contaminants. Chinese or otherwise, hee hee. I did some research. For more modern stuff............. some good info. https://bestsurvival.org/best-gas-mask/ I'm sure RS members who are in the military can be of more help. |

Since my hobby is doing random projects and painting, I've already owned one of these masks. They are so good... you can be spraying paint for half an hour and not smell anything, then once you take the mask off, then you realized just how bad the whole place smells with paint fumes. lol It seems like Canadian Tire has recently received a new shipment. They have a lot of masks for sale now. https://i.imgur.com/0l48KuN.jpg limit of 10 per customer on the masks, and limit of 3 for hand sanitizers. They have a lot of N95 masks too. |
Some of y'all never done any fabricating in your shop and it shows. https://i.postimg.cc/mgsfVZyQ/20200123-104452.jpg |

I dont feel normal wearing masks around Vancouver. It attracts a strange vibe. |
A family of 19 decided to have hot pot, with 2 of them returning from Guangdong. One had a cough before CNY. But they did go for check ups after they got to Hong Kong. So now there's 3 confirmed new cases and 7 more suspected cases. The place hosting has shut down, and all employees are on 2 week quarantine. Be careful out there. Don't freak out, but be careful. Hot pot is a bad idea right now. |

Wife doesnt wanna goto T&T and aberdeen mall. Also forcing my parents to quarantine themselves because they have a connecting flight in hong kong. Extreme but I ain't got time to argue. |
Just like to hear different perspective on this, for those living in Hong Kong right now, how did you evaluate the risk of catching the virus between staying in Hong Kong, vs flying out (ie back to Vancouver/Canada)? I have family living in HK, and when I’m looking at precautions set out by WHO/VCH, important precautions are avoid crowd and hand washing. Hence I’m a strong believer that there’s a lower risk of catching the virus if you stay put (in HK specifically) than if you fly out. However I have friends who thinks it’s safer in Vancouver than HK, which is true, but aren’t you putting yourself at a higher risk when you’re flying out? Just wanr to hear what others perspective are, and if I missed anything or there’s a flaw in my thinking. |

Hong Kong medical workers vote down plans to extend their strike having earlier escalated their action by occupying key floors of Hospital Authority headquarters First of all, someone called your bluff, you lost by a fooking landslide. All your blown up numbers; at the end collasped. You LOST hard. I DO RESPECT you (chairwoman Winnie Yu Wai-ming) for standing UP and accepting the defeat. TL;DR. HK medical workers no strike due to 2,000 votes short of the target. Only 30% agreed to strike. |
