For those anti-mask rallies, instead of giving a fine, which they don't anyways, they should register their MSP number and refuse them healthcare for 14 days.

There's no one size fits all solution.

I trust people like hondaracer... he wants to see his parents at the holidays... I wouldn't blink an eye at it... he's stated all along that he's conscious of various situations and seems to have a handle on risk management.

It's guys like my neighbour who was playing beer pong 4 weeks ago on his patio for a housewarming party with like 12 people there or the ones who just go around rolling their eyes at everything that I avoid/don't trust at all.

“The vpd defends its position to not ticket or warn hundreds of anti mask demonstrators”

Followed by

Fuck right off

Well that somewhat explains how weak a lot of the response has been. Dr. Henry and the provincial gov't can only do so much when the people who are supposed to actually enforce it won't do fuck all.

Geez, it’s like my wife telling our kid bedtime is 9pm, and then I let him stay up! As a result he learns that rules can be ignored. Pisses her off when I don’t enforce her rules.

So tell me wtf does the VPD actually do in this city?
- Won't ticket anti-masker crowds
- Won't ticket parties on Granville St
- Won't do anything about Strathcona Park
- Won't do anything about the stolen goods on Hastings
- Won't do anything about mentally ill terrorizing Yaletown

And please don't say, uh huehuehe they sTiLl IsSuE VIs LOL. It's a fringe issue for the most part outside of this bubble. WTF do they actually do anymore?

And how do we suppose we do that if they're all "Sovereign Citizens" who won't show ID to even get ticketed. Not to mention no government in their right mind would stoop to this.

I hate anti-maskers as much as the next person but comments like these (Public executions for rule breakers!!!) really don't add much to the conversation. How about some creative, feasible solutions?

To add to that original post, the spokesperson from the VPD was on global after that initial run to speak about ticketing

Guess how many tickets they’ve issued thus far, (given the reported 30-50 person condo parties etc.) 300? 100? No.. 8.

People calling into CKNW this morning are basically echoing those sentiments and telling the host their plans to break the guidelines, a few diff people saying they are planning on going to 20+ person Xmas events etc

The solution is doing what they said they would. You break the rules face the consequences. How many times did you guys get detention or get sent to the principal's office just to get there and they be like jk you can go home now. Never. That's how a system works. But clearly they want to run the slap on the wrist Canadian legal system. Not even that cuz they aren't even getting the slap.

That's the problem when you have a government that's mandated public policies with no consequences to them.

People that are following the rules have been doing so for almost 9 months now. People that don't give a shit have continuously broken the rules since this has started. Unless the government and police actually start to throw the book at people then nothing will change.

"VPD BUST PARTY WITH 50 PEOPLE. ISSUE TICKET TO CONDO OWNER. OTHER 49 PEOPLE GET OFF WITH NO CONSEQUENCES."

Stuff like that pisses everyone off because they follow the rules and sacrifice a social life while the people openly breaking the rules get off with little to no consequence and continue to live their best life.

I don't know how they do it, but if I was a police officer or government official, then I'd be absolutely embarrassed at how things are being enforced right now.

The VPD's response to not issuing tickets during the anti-mask protest was that they didn't want to turn the situation volatile. Get the fuck out of here.

This x a million. It feels like a punishment. It’s kind of like how it feels being at work sometimes. Like that joke goes “my work has this amazing thing , where if you work really hard and do a great job, you get to do other people’s job too!”

Lol, I know that feel the harder you work the more work you get. haha. My solution after 10 years of getting bombarded with work was to slow my pace, cut my hours and when I'm off the clock I'm off the clock no exceptions.

Off topic, but I agree. It’s not easy to do as I actually like doing a good job. But it’s taken an entire department of 50 people to screech down to ‘doing just enough not to get fired’ for management to notice. Nothing’s changed tho so we all do our 8 hours and go home.

Meanwhile in Taiwan someone was fined $3,500 for breaking their quarantine for 8 seconds when they walked into the hallway of their quarantine hotel.

I always thought the amount of the fine was a joke to begin with. A co worker of mine said the other week that their friends were having a wedding with 50+ people and law enforcement came in and were going to ticket them so the brides father just pulled out his cheque book and said tell me how much to write the cheque for like it was nothing.

They need to make the fine like 50K per person regardless if you're the host or attendee. If people don't have the money, throw them in jail for 2 weeks. We need the punishment to be severe and enforced so that these anti mask, dgaf about shit idiots aren't an issue.

And agree with everyone our police aren't doing their Jo s when it comes to covid restriction enforcement, and the penalties should be much stiffer, including jail time (like what they needed to do in Australia to curb the rise)

Allergic reactions from Pfizer vaccine

Quote:
People with a history of significant allergic reactions should not have the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid jab, regulators say.

It came after two NHS workers had allergic reactions on Tuesday.

The advice applies to those who have had reactions to medicines, food or vaccines, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said.

The two people had a reaction shortly after having the new jab, had treatment and are both fine now.

They are understood to have had an anaphylactoid reaction, which tends to involve a skin rash, breathlessness and sometimes a drop in blood pressure. This is not the same as anaphylaxis which can be fatal.

Both NHS workers have a history of serious allergies and carry adrenaline pens around with them.

Well apperently that’s what’s churches in the valley are doing, just willingly taking the fine time after time to remain open.

While everyone wants some sort of punishment it becomes a slippery slope when they try to create larger fines and punishments without proper legislation
