94 of those 150 is in Interior Health, which has double the number of active cases as Fraser Health.

90% of cases in IH is people not fully vaccinated. Service jobs are where most of these are occurring.

Not too difficult to paint a picture to what's happening.

The kind of coddling policy catering to anti-vax Trixies and Beefs.

Here is the reality: when you are fully vaccinated, you can still catch the virus. Instead of dying, you would have run-of-the-mill flu symptoms or even no symptom. Can it be fatal to old people with comorbidities? Yes. So are a lot of other diseases. But everyone else? Nothing to worry about. So get vaccinated. Nobody gave a shit before when some idiot would catch the cold/flu and spread the plague all over the office. We didn't require masks then.

I fully supported lockdowns, when we needed it. I supported masks when we needed it. We don't need them now. This is just daily panic porn. Delta variant, gamma variant, yo momma variant. Get vaccinated and let us move on. The small number of people who are medically vulnerable and cannot medically get vaxxed? Let us protect them in a different way catering specifically to them. Bubble wrap them. There is no place for a blanket mask policy now, or any type of blanket policy.

The anti-vaxx and religious BS people? Let them have cake.

My first shot, I only felt a sore arm for 2/3 days.

2nd shot; same sore arm feeling for 2 days and thought that was it. But 3rd day I started feeling a constant headache as well followed by sweats (basically soaked) ever so often. Also slept 12hrs straight for day 3 and 4. I felt 100% after about 5 days. I'll also add...the person who administered my shot said they were extremely tired many times when I was about to get injected. As I got injected they also gasped. Hope I didn't get double dosed or w/e. :pokerface:

While it's great that the vaccines are working and that most serious cases are among the unvaccinated, all kids under 12 still can't get vaccinated. When the vaccinated can give it to the unvaccinated it's kind of a tricky spot to not require masks when that's the case. I don't give a shit about the people who aren't vaccinated by choice but it's kind of a shitty deal that now I have to go back to not being able to go anywhere to protect my kids all because people can't be bothered to wear a mask for a couple more months.

I know everyone wants the best for their kids but statistically they are more at risk walking on the sidewalk to school, or swimming, or riding a bike, or having an allergic reaction.

People refuse to see the big picture. The danger to kids doesn't matter. The fact that they can keep the virus going indefinitely is what matters.

Literally the entire world needs to be 80% vaccinated. Or with closed borders, countries needs to be 80% vaccinated. Without that, we're basically where we were last April, but with fewer hospitalizations and deaths. That is until the eventual variant pops up that wipes everyone out, vaccinated or not.

Getting a vaccine or not isn't a matter of opinion. It's not political... People who refuse it are actually dangerous to humankind. Their bet is that a hugely dangerous variant will never, ever pop up in their lifetimes. Because if it does, then the hope of the sensible portion of the population is that they get culled from the population, leaving the rest of us to pick up the pieces, finally conquer covid, and move on with life. It's funny because there's a dumb Marvel movie where this pretty much happened.. Except those people ain't coming back....

According to this Global BC reporter, the uptick of COVID cases is largely due to unvaccinated people in the 20 - 49 age bracket.

For my anecdote.. I follow this guy on instagram, he puts up great fitness videos

He never posts anti-mask anti-vax shit, but he got hit HARD by it and obviously is not vaccinated. I see people in his comments saying they're going to get vaccinated now (while plenty of others are fighting with them about it)...

So I think for a lot of people, they still don't think it's real until someone they know who is young and/or healthy and fit gets hit by it really hard. I guess we can thank these folks for being open about their situations, if it convinces people. Sadly he's not telling people to avoid his mistake... I wish he'd do that, more people will listen.
