Got mine at the former Fortius building today in Burnaby. Same as already previously reported. They had both shots available and asked which one you got for the first before assigning you to the proper line to get the same shot.

coronavirus discussion

-received my second dose of Pfizer this morning. Left shoulder is in a bit of pain now.

-pretty short wait time at the Vancouver Convention Centre East vaccination clinic. -waited inside for about 15 minutes before a nurse administered the second shot.

There were rows of chairs from UBC for people to sit on in the waiting area after their vaccine shot. LUL

What a beautiful sunny day! great panoramic view of Coal Harbour and the Vancouver Convention Centre West building.

Yea it’s a nice spot to get jabbed, I went and guzzled a few beers at Mahoneys after my first one

westopher 07-13-2021 02:03 PM

I'm going straight from my shot for pints at the gull. Shot can't make you feel shitty if you're already hungover.

Second vaccine fucked me up good. Took me a full week to recover.

First day - was okay until 9pm. That's when I got the chills and arm got sore. The next few days were a roller coaster of fever, chills, and pains all over. Things finally subsided on Day 5 of the second shot and it's been over a week and my arm is slightly sore.

Edit: Got Moderna x 2 through the accelerated vaccination program in Ontario. My second vaccine was initially scheduled for September 11 (terrible date.)

Nationally, 55.6 per cent of all Americans have received at least one COVID-19 shot, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The five states with the biggest two-week jump in cases per capita all had lower vaccination rates: Missouri, 45.9 per cent; Arkansas, 43 per cent; Nevada, 50.9 per cent; Louisiana, 39.2 per cent; and Utah, 49.5 per cent.

Dr. James Lawler, a leader of the Global Center for Health Security at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, said bringing back masks and limiting gatherings would help. But he acknowledged that most of the places seeing higher rates of the virus "are exactly the areas of the country that don't want to do any of these things."

"The descriptions from regions of the world where the delta variant has taken hold and become the predominant virus are pictures of ICUs full of 30-year-olds. That's what the critical care doctors describe and that's what's coming to the U.S.," he said.

At this point, with all the resources that are available, I am so tempted to say that we should just let Darwin run its course. But we really can't do that because there are people who cannot be vaccinated for legitimate reasons -- children under 12, for example.

Gosh... this is so frustrating... FailFish

There's also the concern that a new variant will popup in these unvaxxed ppl that can bypass the vaccine (like delta+ can somewhat)

Yeah much as I want to grab some car stuff and gear across the line, if I’m really desperate I can fly there… keep it closed and let those yobs Darwin themselves not us

^ you mean Alberta? They just had their cowboy party

mb_ 07-13-2021 10:48 PM

Got my second shot today, Pfizer x2. Arm just in some discomfort and don't feel any side effects at this time.

GLOW 07-14-2021 07:33 AM

This was one of the big reasons why I asked on here about mixing vaccines when ON was mixing before BC was. Maybe in due time countries like Barbados will revise once more data is out regarding mixing.

"We continue to advise Ontarians that mixing of the mRNA vaccines, Pfizer and Moderna, as well as mixing Astrazeneca and an mRNA vaccine is safe, it's effective, and it enables people to get their second dose sooner," said Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Barbara Yaffe on Tuesday.

JDMDreams 07-14-2021 09:16 AM

^^ this is why we NEED vaccine passports

inv4zn 07-14-2021 09:19 AM

I wonder if that's the case (ie. country turns you away because you got mixed doses), you can go and get a third shot of whatever of the first two, and then they'll allow you in?

Extra protection!

westopher 07-14-2021 09:42 AM

Feeling pretty achey today after the second shot. Nothing too bad at all though. Just feels like I took a medium slam snowboarding. Energy level, head, awareness is all good. Pretty easy decision between this and getting covid.

CivicBlues 07-14-2021 11:55 AM

I'm about 5 days out from my 2nd Pfizer. Had fatigue almost immediately and it lasted maybe 2.5 days. Sore arm lasted 4 days. Today I have diarrhea for some reason...may be unrelated but about a week after my 1st shot I also had diarrhea. So I'm thinking it may be related.

Anyone else get diarrhea?

Diarrhea!

Hondaracer 07-14-2021 12:08 PM

Outside of normal everyday diarrhea? Lol

I felt almost nothing from second Moderna, I came home from work after the second day and felt a little gross/tired but other than that very minimal.

The one thing I’m wondering though is some inflammation. As I said with the first shot it seemed to aggravate my herniated disc in my lower back as I didn’t really do anything to tweak it other than the shot. Now almoat a week later I’m getting pain in one of my elbows where I sometimes have tennis elbow flare ups but only from a heavy round of golf etc.

CivicBlues 07-14-2021 12:36 PM

Nah not your everyday run of the mill morning wake up loose shits. The kind where you eat a piece of toast and you're running to the bathroom within 1/2 hour trying not to shit your pants.

NGL, this just sounds like you're getting old.

Some days I wake up and have lower backpain as if I just lifted sandbags for an entire day. Just a perk of being in our 30s, right?

Hondaracer 07-14-2021 12:54 PM

I do..however the type of ache in both cases is usually brought on by injury or heavy use. In both cases it seemed to have come out of nowhere

But yea..you could be right :okay:
