Had my shot on Wed. Didn't feel well on Thurs and parts of Friday.
Saturday, I was well enough to go out but still felt headaches come and go.
Pretty much recovered fully Sunday. Can still feel pain in my arm if I touch the injection spot, but no pain from mobility.

That’s what will happen as you re-open. You can’t stay in this state forever.

If the US isn’t an example to lean on then look to the euro championship, European countries opening completely for tourism etc.

They don’t just allow things like stampede to happen and cross their fingers.

I meant that while we all know it's a calculated risk, i think there's a lot of crossing fingers happening. If numbers are still sustainable, then sure. But if you're seeing a sudden 400% spike then mayybe you should've eased into it a bit more.

The province that was nearly begging for field hospitals and now wants to cut nursing salaries? Oh yeah I'm sure they really thought it through.

Yah I would never use Alberta as an example of how to handle literally anything these days… from pandemic mandates to economical ones to government decisions… they’re the very definition of a tire fire over there.

Getting 2nd shot @ Langley Events Centre today. Hope they still givin' out Pfizer!

CRS 07-12-2021 08:55 AM

There shouldn't be a shortage of shots at the moment.

Pfizer had a delay 2-3 weeks ago but it has been since resolved.

Everyone I know that got shots in the last 2 weeks (about 10) had both options available.

JDMDreams 07-12-2021 11:16 AM

^^ nope not for Italian cultural center, on the weekend they only had moderna and saving the Pfizer for the kids

Presto 07-12-2021 12:25 PM

I just got my Pfizer shot, and my 5G is at full bars.
As others have stated, people were getting the shot they got first. Unless AZ, then it's Moderna.

v_tec 07-12-2021 01:00 PM

Got my 2nd shot of Pfizer last Wed. Not much side effects, just a minor headade and slept for 9 hours nonstop.

I have a friend that insist on Pfizer. Does anyone know any centres that will give Pfizer for first shot? A lot of centers will give u choice of P or M for your second dose. And I heard there was a center in Surrey that gave all 3 choices of A/P/M regardless if its your 1st or 2nd shot. But that was last week

Any new data points on being able to choose Pfizer for first shot? Want to get this fxxker vaccinated.

Traum 07-12-2021 01:50 PM

First dose people don't need to make appointments to get their vaccines. So one potential way this guy might be able to get his Pfizer is to just show up at any one of the vaccination centers, ask if they have Pfizer on hand. If they do, he gets jabbed. If it doesn't, he walks.

I wouldn't agree that is a good way to do it, esp when Moderna has been billed to be essentially as effective as Pfizer. Realistically, a person really shouldn't be picky between Moderna and Pfizer at this point.

snowball 07-12-2021 02:16 PM

Moderna and Pfizer are the same technology so I don't understand why someone would choose P over M except for the fact that one is a bigger brand name and because of "internet rumours"

edit: i got 2 doses of Moderna, feels great

punkwax 07-12-2021 03:15 PM

South Surrey Rec Centre had both P & M last Friday.

can anyone confirm this? helping my relative get his second shot this week at the Italian center and he got Pfizer the first time and wants the same shot, since that new WHO report saying u shouldn't mix shots

if they dont offer it to him, can he refuse and just try the same spot another day or try a different place?

Did you read the article lol

Quote:

Its Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on vaccines in June said the Pfizer vaccine could be used as a second dose after an initial dose of AstraZeneca, if the latter is not available.

It should be public health agencies who make decisions, based on available data, and not individuals, the WHO added.
Also it's a bit misleading, the WHO is calling the TREND dangerous, not the actual mixing of vaccines.

Do people still believe the bullshxt that WHO spews out? In particular, the garbage coming from this Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus dude?

After WHO and Tedros' massive efforts to repeatedly and continually cover up for China during the start of the pandemic, their credibility -- and esp Tedros' credibility -- have totally gone down the toilet. It doesn't mean we should specifically go against their recommendations -- it just means they no longer have any credibility, and we need to rely on our own government agencies to examine and verify the available data to determine what is the most appropriate course of action to take.

JDMDreams 07-13-2021 08:31 AM

^ yes our own government agencies that says face masks shouldn't be mandatory and we should have vaccines 8 weeks apart when the manufacturer recommended 4

Hondaracer 07-13-2021 08:33 AM

Lol.. I don’t disagree but this thread has had so much flip flopping from the beggining

People had their panties in a bunch when trump said basically fuck the WHO we’re pulling out, everyone was all over that saying what an idiot bla bla bla

Now everyone Against the WHO and saying you can’t trust them etc.

All I know is I’m glad I got two of the same shots, and I would have walked otherwise.

Got my 2nd at Langley Events Center on the weekend and outside the sign says todays vaccine is Moderna. Wasn't thrilled at that but whatever, it is what it is. Show the girl the card of my first vacc. shot, she gives me the form to fill out and then I stand in line. There were quite a few people waiting zig zagging back and forth. After 10 minutes another girl sees me and tells me that I have a yellow form filled out which is for people getting their 2nd shot who had Pfizer the first time so I should be in the Pfizer line up. What the hell... thanks for telling me there's a separate line up, a line containing 4 people. Was a bit surprised to see how many people were waiting just to get a first dose.

Hondaracer 07-13-2021 09:10 AM

That was the same at Fortius, they asked at the front before ID which shot you had first, if you got Moderna you got a yellow slip and went into a different line

no they were giving out pfizer/moderna last week unless you're just doing drop in then its only moderna they will be offering you

The centre I went to get mines had both P+M, but will only give P if you're there for 2nd shot. If you're there for drop-in, but getting your #2 shot, they have no problem offering Prfzer too. But they were strict - if you're there for #1 regardless if you had an appointment or not, you're only getting Moderna. That's why every centre is a little different and totally up to how the supervisor runs it.

I agree and gave up agruing with him. Least I can do is maybe point him to a centre that's more lenient and flexible and get his ass vaccinated.
:heckno:
1.5mil dose of Moderna arrived last Fri, but we're also getting another 1.4mil dose of P in the next 7-10 days. So hopefully that would help soon.
