Why did you go ?!?! You’re suppose to wait a month or so. It’s actually a great time to go to the other Costco’s as everyone is flocking to this shit show

Went yesterday mid afternoon and the place was eerily empty. I immediately had a choice of three empty parking stalls. No line up to pay, either. Line up for returns was long, but moved along quickly. I didn't even buy anything. I had to return that Golden Island BBQ Pork that was on recall notice.

This reinforce my beliefs that either everyone works shifts in Vancouver or dont work at all for a BUSINESS costco to be packed on weekdays. Either that or we're all boring and the biggest excitement is an american wholesale store. (Yes I already visited)

bcrdukes 11-20-2025 11:42 AM

My own observations for people who go to Costco during the day are:

1. They are rich AF and don't need to work
2. They are rich AF and work for fun

I think we all know which categories Badhobz belongs to.

Shift work is for peasants Can they even afford the membership to entitlement heaven? :troll:

Badhobz 11-20-2025 11:48 AM

i work cuz my wife tells me to work. Otherwise i wouldn't even bother. i rather stay home and play with the chihuahua or take photos of stupid things.

Richmond costco = filled at all times of the day, usually with retired Chinese geezers, geezettes. After 6-7pm normal working people go

Downtown costco = idiots like me who go during their lunch hour or come from the northshore (these north shore guys always buy a crap load). Most people are too cheap to pay the 2 bucks and the warehouse has limited selection vs a normal costco.

All other costco i dont know

tegra7 11-20-2025 02:55 PM

To avoid Boyd street traffic follow the highlighted route to Costco when traffic is busy, also you can enter Costco parking lot from behind Value Village instead of waiting with the rest of the cattle.

I know this has been discussed endlessly in other threads, but I'm asking again because I never paid that much attention before haha.

My Audi's battery looks like it needs replacing. Is getting one from Costco a no brainer? Or are there better options. Money is tight so I don't want to break the bank here.

Badhobz 11-25-2025 12:34 PM

if money is tight costco is the only answer. why? because you can return it after a few years and still get most of your money back.

bcrdukes 11-25-2025 12:38 PM

For Eff-1's benefit, should he replace battery through Costco, does he need to program the new battery through some Audi software?

My cars are too ghetto so for me, it's just a remove/replace.

SSM_DC5 11-25-2025 12:39 PM

Why do you think it needs replacing? Low on CCA when you put it on a tester? Hard to start in this cold weather?

WHATS IT TO YA!??!?! you trying to buy his battery!!??!! FeelsGoodMan

EvoFire 11-25-2025 12:45 PM

Can you just charge it back up? A lot of modern cars have a ton of parasitic draw and batteries typically aren't high on charge if you don't drive much.

Yes, Costco is nice and cheap. For some reason BMW batteries (AGM) are cheap as well, especially if you have a parts hookup.

Make sure to get AGM batteries. Typically H7 or H8 for Audi.

Yes, most German/Euro cars will require BCM coding once battery is replaced to ensure battery longevity.

bcrdukes 11-25-2025 12:52 PM

I am curious if Costco can do the BCM coding for customers?

Costco won't even change your batteries so no.

bcrdukes 11-25-2025 01:09 PM

RIP

shut this thread down. Costco is trash.

whitev70r 11-25-2025 01:31 PM

the bcrdukester cracks me up ... again. I am on Team Costco is trash.

Had to return an item, somebody on here says, 'buy from Costco and you can return your shit anytime' ... he forgot to say that returning things at Costco is an effin stressful, high blood pressure adventure in and of itself. The line to return at Richmond is so damn long, snaked around the Tire centre, had to wait outside. You got like 6 cashiers with a manager whose sole job is to take returns. How do they not want to commit suicide after every work day?

In the store, you got Guandong hoarders buying like 5 packages of 60 Toilet Paper, no the big one isn't going to hit anytime soon, relax grandpa. You got buddy guys buying 8 cases of cereal bars to sell at mom's convenience store.

Then you have refugees working there with safety jackets, whose job it is to collect the carts from the parking lot but they collect so damn fast that they overflow into the lane, resulting in one way only traffic. Do they not know how challenging it is for Richmond Asian drivers to just even drive and park in a normal Costco parking lot? Then you have the useless people, 3 of them, checking you on exit, drawing some black line with a marker on your bill ... have they ever caught anyone leaving without paying for things?

My goal for the rest of my life is not to enter another Costco, ever ! What the hell thrill does anyone get from going to that sh*thole ??!!

Admittely I haven't put it on a tester yet. But since the cold weather arrived, when I leave it parked outside overnight, the morning start is not only a bit more of a struggle, but I get this very brief "Electronics Malfunction, put shifter in P" message that disappears instantly. The car is totally fine the rest of the day. It's just that first morning start. It seems like battery to me.

Also -- back in August (I think) the battery went completely flat when I parked but continued a phone call through carplay with the engine off, for like 20 mins. Had to get a jump start. So already I know it's not great to begin with.

It's 5 years old car, 75k kms, so battery seems like it's time for a change.

TBH i've never considered charging a battery, other than by driving it and leaning on the alternator. I could get a battery charger from crappy tire I guess, but since the battery is already 5 years old, I assume changing it is inevitable.

From what I read, you don't NEED to do it. But you're supposed to use VAGCOM to reset the battery field or something, so that the car knows it's a new battery and it adjusts the alternator accordingly, or something like that.

If you don't do it, you risk the new battery not lasting as long.

Two options at Costco for AGM. Energizer. H5 or H6. $300 or $320.

Ha! You think that’s stressful ?!

You’ve merely adopted the Costco returns policy. I was born in it, shaped by it.

What the Chong and Puns do are none of your concern. You need to focus John smith. Focus on the goal of returning the trash back to the trash manufacturer. Then, and only then will you know the sheer ecstasy of using something for years and then getting your full money back. When you walk away from emotionally crippled human husk of a cashier, with all your money in hand. You should have already nutted in your pants. Now go buy a new pair of pants and return the old one immediately.
