Stetch. If you did this in VAN, you'd be the $5.95M man.

Beautiful move.

Ch28 06-03-2021 12:55 PM

Stecher with the fucking filthy dangle and picture perfect pass.

Should've kept him instead of another POS BC boy.

You must be too young to remember Todd Bertuzzi hit and pile on Moore afterwards.

AzNightmare 06-03-2021 04:18 PM

wow!

Kind of surprised. Not because I don't think he deserved it.
But because the league actually did their job.

spoon.ek9 06-03-2021 07:22 PM

glad they got it right. let's hope evans can recover.

Razor Ramon HG 06-03-2021 08:00 PM

Scheifele getting four is about right, but in contrast to Reaves getting two, the DOPS just looks like a complete joke.

SkinnyPupp 06-03-2021 08:53 PM

4 playoff games... I was hoping for 8 or more but it's a lot better than 2 which is what I expected. You're right, it makes Reaves look like a joke, especially for a repeat offender

Tim Budong 06-03-2021 10:40 PM

what was the reason why the team let Troy from Richmond walk?

Because we signed another local boy that is a fucking gong show.

This one burned me, I understood letting Marky go and Tanev as well given his age and injury prone ways... but Stetch was cheap and works so hard... I think Green wasn’t a big fan but that’s just my theory.

murd0c 06-04-2021 09:22 AM

it's because he was small and we already had small d with Hughes and Rathbone (yes I know he has only played 8 games) I didn't like it because its like they did him dirty, he has so much heart and was bleeding blue and green.

68style 06-04-2021 12:29 PM

You said small d

Obsideon 06-04-2021 12:36 PM

But still, there were plenty of much worse ways to spend $1.7m ... even for a 6/7th D.
Exhibit A: The entire bottom 6 forwards.

Expresso 06-04-2021 01:04 PM

What a waste of a decade to be honest...you would think you would properly develop, draft and reload by now.

The organization's refusal to do a proper rebuild is so painful.

Hondaracer 06-04-2021 01:20 PM

Watching Tampa play you get a feeling as to how far off the Canucks are from being contenders :(

68style 06-04-2021 02:14 PM

It kills me that 10 years after 2011 Boston has continued to have extremely competitive teams and the same core guys almost the entire time... yet we are auditioning guys like Highmore in our Top 6

whitev70r 06-04-2021 06:10 PM

K, ...didn't see this coming. Montreal up 2-0.

Toffoli scored only goal.

spoon.ek9 06-04-2021 06:15 PM

yup, that was a great goal. price playing super solid and calm. everybody paid the price to win the game. well deserved victory

As Benning would say "ran out of time"

Benning was exploring the possibility of an OEL deal, contract offers to other defencemen. Virtanen, Holtby, Macewen deals ect. Stecher had a expiring contract offer from Detroit that he had to take especially since Vancouver i believe never offered him one. It was clear to him he was Bennings plan C or D at this point.

Also Benning is known for not communicating with pending free agents till its to late. Toffoli, Stecher and Matthias off the top of my head come to mind.

And somehow Marchand went from pest to elite scorer...
as much as I hate him, the evolution of his career is quite something.

68style 06-04-2021 11:29 PM

Even Pastrnak came form nowhere too... I remember going to a game we beat Boston like 7-1 at Rogers Arena before his breakout season and he was like some 4th liner doing all these puck tricks in the pregame skate and I was thinking who’s this loser think he is being all fancy hahaha sheeeeeeit

Tim Budong 06-05-2021 12:31 AM

wouldn't say Boston came from no where, just great asset management and drafting.

Colorado is a franchise to look up to with their rebuild etc

highfive 06-05-2021 12:51 AM

Boston actually did a pretty good job retooling. Traded away lucic, lost Louie and chara yet they’re able to consistently find players even fucking up on thst draft year where they could’ve drafted barzal, connor and chabot. Haha

Not really. I feel we’re at the same path as Colorado. They had a 7-8 years of no playoffs. Drafted duchene, landeskog, and mackinnon. Thinking their rebuild is over, they failed to make playoffs after that one year I think and they got jost and rantanen and then makar.

Duchenes trade made them better.

Joe Sakic would probably punch you in the face for comparing the job he's done to the one Dim Jim has done.
