Watching for Acura604 and seeing how generous he feels tonight! |

Judging by other posts about McD's ... I think even if someone offered a free McChicken sandwich next game day, there'd be like flies on sh*t all over that! |
Demko solid again tonight |
Bad pinch by Hughes on the Toronto goal in the 1st period. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Demko with the "Gump Worsley-like" save PogChamp And Jake scores another! POGGERS |
Canucks are just willing this game to a win with sheer effort and great goaltending |
Demko looking like he’ll become the tendy we thought he could be. SeemsGood |

... negative reinforcement FTW. |
Demko looked great. Most saves looked completely effortless like he didn't even have to try, but he had some great athletic saves as well. Who thought it would be Virtanen stepping up in Petey's absence? LUL Great win by the team. They may be losing a lot, but they have never given up. They play hard, so I don't see any reason to abandon them. |
Trade Jake now, value all-time high! :fullofwin: |
Sad to hear about Walter. Great hockey dad. Often, professional athletes are not that, professional. Wayne was such a great person. Got that from dad. Anyway, so sad................... Great stories from people like Kelly Hrudey. |
Coaching change in Cowtown ... another case of recycling. https://www.tsn.ca/calgary-flames-fi...ment-1.1602864 The Calgary Flames have fired Geoff Ward and brought Darryl Sutter back as head coach. |

omg we won? haha |
lol, Virtanen's best game of his career. |
that had to be the most unlikely of scenarios. hottest team in the north taken down by he lowly canucks led by none other than almost-never-superstar Jake. |

Yeah but the Sens are an even younger team with zero expectations lol. They're playing the best they can with a lot less pressure to produce results. |
Benning said today we are 2 years away from being competitive. not a contender, competitive. that brings us to year 9 of his tenure. 9 years later, the goal is to be competitive. |

Even then, that was ridiculous as it had already been 5 years of mediocracy. Since then, not only have we not accumulated picks/prospects (worse, given them away) but have also hamstrung the near future with terrible contracts. both timelines were unacceptable, but this one is far worse. |
I don’t want to come across as an apologist but I think the flat cap really impacted Benning’s plans. No, I don’t think he’s the greatest GM, and I’ve posted here more than once that his skillset should be paired with someone with more business acumen, like a Gillis. That said, flat cap killed our chances to retain players like Marky, Tanev, Toffoli, Stecher and grow as an organization. Not to say we would’ve kept all 4 but we certainly wouldn’t have lost all of them. Everyone enjoyed the playoff bubble run and can see that the Canucks aren’t a lost cause, overall. Yes, they’ve taken a step back so maybe now we do need another 2 years to contend. No one had a COVID crystal ball and I really believe we wouldn’t be having these types of conversations if the cap didn’t get flattened as a result. That said, I’m not talking about other teams and how they’ve managed through this. I’m strictly speaking to how Benning may have had a solid plan as we saw proof of that last playoff run, and then shit happened. To quote the great Canucks player (not person), Todd Bertuzzi: It is what it is. |

I guess their success last season really shot themselves in the foot. Either it was luck that they went into the 3rd round or they really took a huge step backwards this year ... or both. |
