Just 9 more wins to go.

We got this...

68style 04-08-2022 09:23 AM

Arizona is such a horrible team, I actually felt sorry for the players

6thGear. 04-08-2022 10:12 AM

They don't go there foe the hockey culture that's for sure

Martin will become our new backup goalie.

Two year, one way contract for Spencer.

Good for him ... he earned it. Hopefully, this GM team will stop throwing away cap $$ on players like Halak.

BlackV62K2 04-08-2022 11:31 AM

Curious where the Canucks would be in the standings in Green/DimJim were gone at the start of the season

68style 04-08-2022 12:21 PM

He needed to be gone before the off-season... I hated our team last year... and I do like Garland... and appreciate OEL at times...

but we were FINALLY at the last year of all those horrible contracts... just had to basically throw away this year (it's been thrown away anyway basically!) and then we were in fantastic shape with like $18+M off the books if you also don't sign Poolman and Dickinson... but nope, someone tried to save their job and make the playoffs.

I also kinda blame Horvat, his end of year comments about not staying here if we keep missing playoffs... put a lot of public pressure on management not just riding out the last year of all those horrible deals.

BUT... time heals all wounds right? Maybe the timing just wasn't right... if we hadn't kept GMJB as long as we had we maybe wouldn't have gotten Boudreau or Rutherford or Allvin... so... there's an upside to everything I think.

BlackV62K2 04-08-2022 12:33 PM

It would be a miracle if the GM can somehow offload Myers (NTC), OEL (NMC), Dickinson and Garland. While Garland is good, he's not at almost 5mil good.

MG1 04-08-2022 12:34 PM

Canucks have lots of upside, "cause there's no direction left to go except up. Okay, maybe stay the same.

I'm no longer a Canuck fan........ took everything Canucks down, except the "Heart and Soul," framed picture. I was thinking of selling the bandwagon. Then, I thought, why not rent it out? Every Tom's Dick in Harry is doing that in real estate these days. Why not the wagon, gulolol.

We would be in such good shape, but man now we are saddled with more shiet contracts. It's going to be so hard for management to retool this roster.

I couldnt take another year hearing about those horrible players, I have to regrets with them being traded at all!! Allvin will make this right.

whitev70r 04-09-2022 08:04 AM

There are a couple of articles talking about whether this GM team will extend a 2nd year to Bruce Boudreau as coach. Apparently, Aquaman signed him as coach for 1 year with a 2nd year as option (not hired by this GM team).

Is that just click bait? If there was any more obvious conclusion, at least to me ... of course you bring him back for a year and then consider offering an extension sometime in the middle of next season if he continues to have this kind of winning percentage.

68style 04-09-2022 08:27 AM

By all accounts Canucks ownership got Rutherford’s input before hiring Boudreau so it’s a bit of a fallacy to say this management had no say in his hiring.

Boudreau also has an out clause, so he may well leave to a better offer too.

teggy604 04-09-2022 08:55 AM

Wondering if this shape up will get season ticket holders to buy for next season? Promising fans its going to be different next year.

I don't care how you rebuild or retool. They're only as good as how well the core players play. Miller, Petey, Bo, Hughes, Boeser and Demko.

Petey, Bo, and Boeser been pretty shitty this year. If they don't bring their consistent A game like how the Sedins used to be. Nothing is going to change.

68style 04-09-2022 02:48 PM

Uhm…

Bo has a career high for goals and Petey is just under a ppg now and playing the best hockey he ever has… how is that shitty man?

I’ll give you Boeser though, he’s been disappointing this year for sure.

In 2 months this will be at the top of reddit, with most people thinking it was real

Gumby 04-11-2022 06:15 PM

Well, Detroit was in Rogers arena on March 17 (and the kiss cam refers to St. Patrick’s Day) and we lost 1-0, so it all adds up…

Weird, the first couple, the female looks like my manager! I don’t remember her husband looking like that guy though. Scared to ask if it’s her, lol…

spoon.ek9 04-11-2022 08:52 PM

we talked about it when it happened... totally staged.

Kilinim 04-12-2022 05:15 PM
