I don't think anyone expected Vegas to be as good as they were after their expansion draft. Regardless, I could see Seattle being a bubble playoff team if their goal tending and defense holds up.

OEL actually looked pretty good tonight. Really quite similar to a younger Edler who would rock people with solid hits.

I'm good with that, we have like a 3 year window max right now, I don't care if he's a UFA in 5 years. Someone else will have come along by then and the cap will be much higher hopefully.

Agreed, like damn I love Petey but any market always gets caught up that the best player on the team is a stud. He exploded onto the scene and had a pretty killer 1st year, basically did exactly the same in the 2nd with no advancement really, 3rd year struggled to begin then got injured. I haven't seen the next step yet but can't really say what his ceiling is right now, will and can he be better? Absolutely, how much though remains to be seen.

Seems like other teams figured out how to play against him. While getting similar points in his 2nd season, he looked like he was fighting a lot harder to get his goals. He was simply shut down a lot in the 3rd season.

He's only proven to be a 70-80~pt player right now. But hyped up like he's a 90-100pt player.

Actually the way how his 3rd season slid, I think he still needs another full season to prove he's at least a legit pt/g player..

8 to 8.5 for 5 years? That’s perfectly reasonable and a no brainer. Get it done (Hughes too) and get these guys into the preseason so they hit the ground running in the regular season.

there's ~$16M-ish available to sign both the kids after putting Ferland to LTIR...if Hamonics cap hits gets moved off the books, they'll have almost $20M to sign the kids and find a replacement
