https://mobile.twitter.com/DarrenDre...7Ctwgr%5Etweet Meanwhile lol. Schmidt waiving nmc wonder what we're getting back |
Schmidt already refused a trade to the Jets when he was on the Golden Knights. I guess it's telling that he was willing to accept the trade to Vancouver. I can see that he doesn't want to stay in Canada anymore, true bred MURICA! |

We just get a draft pick from the Jets. LUL Once complete, the Jets send a 3rd round pick in 2022 to Vancouver for Schmidt. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Pending the trade call the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks are completing a trade that sends Nate Schmidt to the Jets. Schmidt has to waive his NTC to facilitate. ^ He would have still sat in the dressing room with the guys in every game he played |
I thought he hated them, not the other way around. But who knows. |
yea, but maybe that means he really wanted to GTFO of here |
Where there’s smoke there’s fire: “I’ve been through some trials and tribulations in my life, especially the last couple of years, and even for someone who thrives on being positive,” admitted Schmidt. “The other day, Millsy (J.T. Miller) said he didn’t want to be around me anymore, but in a good way. He said: ‘I can’t help you today, I’ve got to move on. I need five minutes from you.’” |

Personally I don’t think it’s too positive of a thing that Miller’s attitude can drive players away. He probably needs to be put in his place a little as well. Where’s Pat Quinn when you need him? |
From the outside looking in I would prefer someone who takes losses (too) seriously rather than someone who was laughing it off. But I can also see how it can be bad for morale. |
Well for one thing, all these off-season moves gave me a small itch to possibly grab the newest NHL game. Or maybe I'll dust off my old one and just update the rosters since it's the same same every year. I wonder if it still works ... |
Schmidt's schtick ... his constant non-stop talking/chirping can get on people's nerves after a while. I bet it's not only Millsy. |
^you’re probably right but Miller is the surly one that can’t internalize it :lol |
Last EA NHL game I touched was NHL06 and that was because I worked on it. I remember we worked til late after the draft to input Sidney Crosby into the game with the correct jersey and info. #coolstorybro |
Latest free agent signings: Brandon Sutter will return to the team, according to multiple reports, but at a reduced rate from his previous contract. The new contract, which was reported by Thomas Drance of The Athletic and confirmed by TSN’s Bob McKenzie, is a one-year deal worth $1.125 million. The other free agent signing is Jaroslav Halak, according to ESPN’s Kevin Weekes. The 36-year-old Slovakian is set to sign a $1.5 million contract to replace Braden Holtby as Vancouver’s backup goaltender. The deal, Weekes reports, also carries $1.5 million in potential performance bonuses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
^ That's really good, they were reporting Halak would be $3M+ straight salary cap hit yesterday! I'll take Sutter as the 4th line C for $1 mill... he performed pretty well last year |
Hamonic back for 2 years at 3 million per. |
I’ve been fine with Sutter the last couple years as he is a reliable, useful, player that can play in multiple situations. Even if he was overpaid at least he was a utility player. Fine to have him back as I don’t think there were too many Better options especially at that price for a 3/4 C |
Hamonic became pretty much our best defensive dman toward the end of the season... 3 mill is a bit pricy but I think he's necessary given the type of other dmen we have |
