-saw one Oilers fan wearing his home jersey and waving a giant Oilers flag last night while driving in Vancouver on East Broadway haha. -dude was standing on a corner of side street while waving his flag. LUL

I predict that the Panthers win this series in six games.

IF the Coilers can pull off the upset and beat the favoured team, I hope that Gary Bettman looks pissed when he hands the Stanley Cup to McDavid.

A Canadian team winning the Cup would be the equivalent of a big "Fuck You" to Bettman and his strong preference for an American team to hoist the Cup.

whitev70r 06-03-2024 09:05 AM

Yah, I feel that the bitter taste of a defeat last year for the Panthers will be that extra motivation. When you get to this level, skillset is pretty evenly match, it's the will and desire and who wants it more that will get you to the 4 W's in the SCF.

MarkyMark 06-03-2024 09:41 AM

Should be a good series, the Panthers are hungry after losing last year and McDavid is getting his chance to finally win a cup with this team

keifun 06-03-2024 10:08 AM

Bettman for sure prefers his Sunbelt teams to win. Seems it's gonna be a tough one for EDM

MarkyMark 06-03-2024 10:11 AM

I can't imagine the leagues best player hoisting the cup is considered bad for the sport I don't think Bettman wants Edmonton to lose as much as their fans want people to think they have to overcome the whole league to win lol

Liquid_o2 06-03-2024 11:27 AM

I'm good with either team winning. Would be nice to FINALLY see the Stanley Cup come back to Canada after 30+ years. As much as people bitch about McDavid, he is the best player in the league and deserves a cup. But I also would love to see Luongo raise the cup :P

teggy604 06-03-2024 12:42 PM

I wonder if they would play Stetcher for one game in the finals. If they do and oilers win he gets his name on the cup. lol

He's hurt

Yeo goes to Ottawa, still an assistant coach.

Mike Yeo joins Nolan Baumgartner on Travis Green’s coaching staff in Ottawa

??? What made him want to go become part of that shitshow lol... guess it's closer to his birthplace? Not sure where his family lives/wants to live.

murd0c 06-04-2024 10:26 AM

Looks like Green is bringing the boys back LOL

spoon.ek9 06-04-2024 10:27 AM

Yeo was offered a 1 year deal with us to coincide with Tocchet's current contract. Greene has a 4 year contract and is able to provide more job security in Ottawa.

Also found this in an article on an Ottawa website:

Quote:

A source told the Vancouver Province Tuesday that Yeo left the Canucks for “an opportunity closer to home.” Yeo was in charge of the Vancouver penalty killing units last season.
He's from Toronto and there was some speculation he might join the Leafs too.

Hondaracer 06-04-2024 11:00 AM

Yeo was also hired with Bruce, wasn’t really a Toch guy anyways

68style 06-04-2024 11:13 AM

it's that slow time of year where we're analyzing assistant coaches that left hahaha... I read an article about Sam Lafferty not coming back next year... or not being wanted back rather.

Made me think how fuckin disappointed I was in that guy. He lit it up in the first half to the season for a 3rd/4th line guy looked like a genius signing... and then was absolute dogshit from that point forward. Became a "where plays go to die" kind of guy like Mikheyev. Should have been someone with his size and skating ability who could have really made a difference in the playoffs, but I only remember him taking a stupid penalty that cost us a game.

Really frustrating when guys in such precarious spots employment-wise just don't seem to care. Never really seen him get interviewed or anything, so don't have much of an impression of how he is.

teggy604 06-04-2024 12:10 PM

Considering his cap hit. 24 points is really good. Mik has only 7 points more and gets paid almost 5 million.

bobbinka 06-04-2024 12:11 PM

Even if he wanted to stay, let him walk.

Yah numbers wise it looks good just peeking at his entire season with no analysis... but his 2nd half and playoffs was abysmal... he had 6 points over the last 41 games.

spoon.ek9 06-04-2024 12:45 PM

I'd rather give Podz the chance to take up a 4th line role than bring Lafferty back at a higher cap hit. It'll be an interesting off season to see what management can come up with.

Tim Budong 06-04-2024 07:50 PM

got sent a link... i think its really made up lmaoooo

https://www.canucksdaily.com/nhl-tea...for-four-asset

To CAR: Hronek, Höglander, D-Petey, 2025 1st.

To VAN: Necas, 2024 3rd.

I think thats WAY too much

spoon.ek9 06-04-2024 08:13 PM

that would be a horrible deal for us

teggy604 06-04-2024 08:54 PM

They already traded Hunter Brzustewicz to get Lindholm. If they trade D Petey we won't have any good D left lol.

TjAlmeida 06-04-2024 09:49 PM

This team trying to force it and giving away all future picks would be terrible management. Oilers 2.0 with no mcdavid to bail them out.

Looking at Mikheyev's stats, I'm surprised he even scored 11 goals last season. I can't recall a single one, besides that one against the Avs where Canucks had that 3-0 lead and blew it.

JR done the same in Pittsburgh

its very much on point

teggy604 06-05-2024 09:27 AM

He had Crosby and Malkin in Pitts.

We have Petey and Kuzy, Mik, Lindholm, Hogs, and future Necas?
