I'm a repeat customer and that means a lot to them. Great service, too. If you're in a hurry, this place is not for you. Very laid back. The place is a little weird in that it looks like they're closed. You need to be buzzed in.

BTW, I'm a Panasonic fanboi.

Second Sunny. Our current TV is from them. Definitely laid back.

Mine is a MXM2S which is BT enabled. Saves me the headache of fumbling with dongles. All my MXM mice are connected by BT

Any experience with Hisense? A few friends have purchased This Model and say the picture quality is amazing. I have never purchased Hisense before, usually Samsung or Panasonic TVs.

Once you get a tempurpedic, you'll never go back to anything else.

If memory foam's not your jam, I've heard good things about stearns and foster mattresses.

Hmm some of these Chinese made SSD’s for Ps5 on sale..

$150 for a 2GB Chinese made SSD doesn’t really feel that great of a deal though

Way too subjective, everyone will be different but for me it's Seahorse for life, specifically the diamond mattress. 2 sides one rock fucking hard and the other not so much. Though in my experience the not so hard side is still harder than any western mattress out there so if you're not used to this it may not be for you or perhaps may not know yet it's for you.

I glanced at this message and all I saw was hard fucking... made me think of that Key & Peele mattress skit someone posted awhile ago lol

my 75" Sharp says it's a Hisense in the Bluetooth menu. quality is about an 8.5/10. would buy again. it was $1800 at Visions 4 years ago.

never have an issue. mywife is a huge brand whore and thinks crap on hisense... it's came a long way and 99.99% can't tell what's 4k 8k ...

Hondaracer 11-21-2024 06:56 PM

I’m sure they absorbed all the technology from Sharp and have a better manufacturing ability than Sharp did

Manic! 11-21-2024 07:20 PM

Foxconn now owns Sharp and it looks like they getting out of making sharp TV's.

Sharp's history with TVs includes:

1931: Sharp began researching TVs, just as radio was becoming popular.

1953: Sharp mass-produced TVs before television broadcasting began.
2015: Sharp sold its North American TV business to Hisense, a Chinese TV maker.
2016: Foxconn acquired Sharp.
2017: Foxconn sued Hisense for selling TVs under the Sharp brand that violated FCC rules.
2018: Foxconn dropped the lawsuit against Hisense.
2019: Sharp regained the license from Hisense and resumed making Sharp-branded TVs.
2022: Sharp announced its return to the U.S. TV market.

all i can say is we bought 2 hisense tvs for our work security cameras and they both broke within 2 years. also my friends 55" died after just over a year. im sure this happens here and there with all brands depending on the model but my impression isn't good based on those experiences.

Anyone have suggestions for a bluetooth speaker? Looking for something that won't take up a ton of space. Ideally something that would fit easily on a washroom counter. Bonus points if it's stylish too.

Other than that, no idea what I want/need to buy. Maybe some over the ears headphones? Wouldn't mind a set for long haul flights.

I use a Sony one that is waterproof enough to take in the shower with me, and has been reliable for years. But I'm sure the model has been replaced since then, but if I were to buy a new one that's where I'd look first

punkwax 11-21-2024 07:38 PM

In the world of electronics, cheaper products sell based on specs but the quality of their components don’t compare to the bigger/better brands who have a reputation to protect. The cheap brands are far more likely (and perhaps engineered) to fail before a quality product with the same specs on a datasheet.

For example, I bought a Sharp Aquos back in the day before they were acquired. A coworker shopping for TVs at the same time said the Samsung he bought had better specs for a lower price. Roughly 10 years later he was on his 3rd Samsung when my Aquos finally died.

Don’t buy based on spec sheets. That’s how they get you because you’ll likely shop the same way when the product inevitably fails.

browsing through BestBuy deals and the Marshall brand catches my eye. they've got some decent prices for them too. good bass is for sure a criteria now that i'm actually looking. currently using a really small Philips one a friend picked up for me from HK many years ago. Still goes strong but I'm well overdue for an upgrade haha.

I use this IKEA portable speaker on my washroom counter - it gives out good bass and doubles as an ambient lamp.
