Other than that, no idea what I want/need to buy. Maybe some over the ears headphones? Wouldn't mind a set for long haul flights.

Lol, I have this bluetooth speaker I purchased at Princess Auto. It was $9.99. I wasn't expecting much, but five years later, it still works. It's suction mount, so I slap it on the shower door. Don't think they make them anymore...........

I also have a HomePod Mini on the bathroom counter. It's not waterproof, but has great sound for its size.

I was looking for an Atmos creating soundbar to compliment the new TV since the one I had in my condo was a 15 year old Yamaha that was expensive at the time, but was severely lacking in being able to hear dialogue in lots of shows, etc.

Lots of people suggested Sonos but I don't like the fact you have to enter into that ecosystem with it and the Sony Bravia 9 is expensive and lots of middling reviews and their Quad system is $2,500 which is kind of crazy. Everyone was saying to go with the Samsung Q990D if you can afford it... think it's $1,500 on sale for Black Friday... I ended up finding some reviews o a lesser known Q930C model which rated just under the Q990 and only Visions has it and it's $898... usually a $1,700 system... the D modelis on sale for $1,400 on Samsung's own website but almost no difference between the C and D. I did way too much research on soundbars but feel like this is the best combo of excellent sound and not paying $2k+ if you want to check it out:

So Sonos has been under fire in the last 3-4 months and lost almost half their share value because they released a massive app update and it completely fucked everyone’s systems and it’s still not resolved.

Huge connectivity issues, compatibility issues etc. it’s to the point where people are speculating if the company will go under because it was a fuck up to that degree. I’ve got their amp and 3 PLAYS and I’ve had my fair share of really annoying issues as well.

Apparently with newer components the issues aren’t as prevalent but something to keep in mind with Sonos.

That Samsung one you posted though, my dad has an older model of the same line I believe and he’s also had a bunch of issues with his. Mostly in the wireless rears in that he has to reset the sub almost every time in order to get the rears to sync again, he’s using it with an older LG OLED

roastpuff 11-22-2024 07:41 AM

I think the Sonos issue is overblown unless you use their app for anything beyond changing the volume. I have a Sonos'd house and it works fine for me.

The Arc Ultra looks great, I have the OG Arc and a Sub Mini in the TV area + rear One SL surrounds, and movies like Dune/Interstellar/Top Gun Maverick have great Atmos moments. I want to upgrade to Era 300 rears and Arc Ultra but don't really need to...

Dunno, the majority of people seem to have issues

The app update has rendered my apple play completely useless with their system whereas before it worked flawlessly

I think those having issues would obviously be complaining a lot. No doubt Sonos completely screwed the pooch on the initial app release. It was very poorly handled.

Interesting, my Apple Airplay is working just fine with my system.

I am looking for an E-scooter for a Grade 7, honestly most likely just gonna buy used on Facebook Market Place, because I really think it will be stolen~~

Any brands I should look, or I should avoid? Unless there is some crazy deal going on for new.

Budget wise, keep it under 5 bills?

Mine is likely due to a mixture of old and new components, I have the amp which is the newer “backbone” component then two of the older grey and black Play ones or whatever, which did not have Apple play built into them. The app update seemed to fuck over people who have a mixture of older and newer components like myself the most

However, having “old” (they are only 4-5 years old) components which worked flawlessly previously isn’t really a justifiable reason to say oh, well you’re SOL, used to work before but now we blame it on your router, your wifi, etc. lol

Anyone looking for a PS5 SSD I purchased this one figured there won’t be any better deals coming if they aren’t there today:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0BNQ2...b_b_prod_image

2TB for $150 is about as good of a price I’ve seen looking for the last year or so

NIU is solid, Segway has good after sale support. I've been keeping an eye on this one myself

$350 https://a.co/d/cKkhzyF - Quick enough, but not too fast to be unsafe for your kid

I've been using my Xiaomi M365 for years now. Only annoyance is the tires will go flat with mild/moderate use. You can resolve this issue with solid tires but ride quality suffers (not that your kid would care, probably). Max speed 26km/hr and range is supposed to be 30km I believe. At the time, I got it on sale through BestBuy for about $450.

Badhobz 11-22-2024 10:52 AM

just buy your scooters from costco. when they fuck up (and they will eventually) go return it and get a new one. D

I'm on my 3rd ebike. THANKS COSTCO !
(its not because I'm fat and wayyy over the recommended weight limit okay)

JDMDreams 11-22-2024 11:45 AM

^^ I haven't seen any adult scooters for sale at Costco for at least a year..... I'm looking for one also. Does this fall under the gst rebate, it's for my kid, me

watchu talking about JDMWILLIS !?

why you people need a sale? like I said, buy it, ride it, crash it, or break it, and then go return it for a new one. who gives a shit what entry price is.

bcrdukes 11-22-2024 01:15 PM

Are there any eScooters similar to Lime/Bird on sale? I'm not super familiar with the overall market and somewhat curious about them.

JDMDreams 11-22-2024 01:16 PM

^^ those are pretty mid at best for the price. They don't have Segway any more, I rather buy from a bigger scooter brand than those no name brands. I want faster and longer range like 50km+

Sound bars suck. If you have the space you can go with these: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...f-7dea23b27031

Or if you wan to take up less space just go with the front 3: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...d-3bd282aa0748

This seem like a really good deal: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...b-0a11570d867d

Add a receiver like this: https://www.visions.ca/denon-8k-5-2-...fault_products

Spend the rest on a good sub.

Way better sound for the same price or less.

Yup if you have the space, way better option than the sound bars. I set up a 5.2.4 setup in my den with an Atmos receiver and Klipsch speakers off craigslist/FB marketplace. The dust storm in The Martian is nuts with Atmos.
The receiver you linked doesn't have Atmos though.

However, not everyone wants to mess with wiring, setup and configuration. For most people, a soundbar is good enough, from a physical space, usage, setup and convenience standpoint. A lot of people don't even know how to activate surround sound settings on their sources.

I don't have time or a good way to hide cables. Plus this mostly plays youtube. Very rarely would we watch an AAA flick like Martian. Though that was a good movie.

Jbl flip, cheap, 6" in size, sounds great (not stylish).
No point spending double / triple for "logo" brands. Seems to be best bang for your dollar.
