All this talk about McDavid wanting out, or wanting to fuck his team. But he has gotten to within 1 or 2 games of winning it all, two years in a row. Do you know how low the probability of that is? It would be fucking insane for him to leave if they can keep the core together, and make some adjustments, and goaltending. Florida had a productive third line, something that you basically fluke into, which just about every cup winner has done so. Fans always want to blow shit up like it's a board game that resets every 15 minutes. |
Did you watch the series though? Edmonton was not close to Florida. They won 2 games in OT and both of them they didn’t deserve to win. I’m considering lifestyle too. Edmonton sucks balls to live in. |
Move to Dallas, he gets a cup. There’s probably 4-5 other teams he gets back to the finals with his addition alone. And they all have better goaltending and better depth. He isn’t going to leave, but the odds of getting to a third consecutive finals is incredibly low. |

There are better teams out there than the Oilers, and maybe jumping ship is the right choice for him. But I don't think it's by far the best choice. |
Now looking back, funny to think that the Leafs had the best chance of taking Panthers out, at least they took them to 7 games! If only the Leafs showed up in game 7. |
so easy, McDavid for Quinn Hughes since both players are leaving their teams anyway according to fans. |

That is the thing. The Laughs star players never show up in game 7. It's a fact and not a "if" lol. |
and it's not even the fault of a singular core group of players, it spans generations at this point lol. betting against them is almost guaranteed money and yet you have people like Drake betting for them to win ($1M, no less). |
So looking back, I shat on the Leafs for failing to get past round 2 again vs. the Panthers but it's two years in a row that they lost to Panthers. Just like the Oilers, the SCF finalist. WTH is it with the Panthers that make good or decent teams to crap the bed and lose lobsided games in a series. The Oilers crapped the bed 3 times in the 6 game series. Played hard for 3 and won 2 of them. If Oilers played hard for 7 games, hockey gods might have smiled on them and give them 4 wins. When they said Florida was built for 7 game playoff series, they are not kidding. Its still satisfying as hell to see the Leafs lose in round 2 though ... :lol. |
the most diabolical thing was their apology tour after beating the laffs. depending on how you look at it of course, it was either genuine or total a troll job with all the glowing compliments they gave to them in regards to having a really good team. of course, they had to add the last bit where they said if that team were somewhere other than Toronto they would have been even more successful :lol |
-latest rumour about Boeser is that the Bruins are taking a run to sign him: https://www.si.com/onsi/breakaway/ne...r-brock-boeser Trade news: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...ras-to-flyers/ The Anaheim Ducks are trading forward Trevor Zegras to the Flyers for centre Ryan Poehling, a 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Monday. Zegras, the ninth overall pick from 2019, had 12 goals and 32 points in 57 games last season. He has struggled to stay healthy over the last two seasons after posting back-to-back 20-goal, 60-point seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23. |

This year's July 1st, UFA day should be interesting as there are a number of decent players playing musical chairs. Marner, Bennet, Ehler, Tavares, Duchene, Ekblad, Marchand, etc. |

Canadian teams and players treat hockey as a job. Canadian players are like Canadian blue collar workers... a day late and a dollar short. Look at the Leafs in Game 7, they were so low energy that they could have put Sleepy Joe Biden on skates and he'd be on their top line. American teams and players treat winning as their mission and work together more for this goal, willing to take lower pay to be on a competitive team, players like each other more, maybe better taxes, less media microscope... |
Bennett: indicated to crowd he intends to stay with Panthers for next 8 years Marchand: indicated he'd like to stay in Florida Duchene: already signed 4 year extension with Dallas Tavares: apparently there's mutual interest to get a deal done Ekblad: apparently talks of an extension have begun Ehlers: he gon' git paid |
Can Florida re-sign all those players? Or, are they willing to take pay cut to live in Florida and keep winnin? |
this is why the florida teams have been in such good position recently: winning culture and tax free state having both things going for them makes it easier to sign good players to team friendly deals. not to mention their surroundings being pretty much tropical and less media scrutiny. if you took a reasonable pay cut and had a legitimate shot at a 3rd cup, wouldn't you sign? i know i would rather than gamble on another place that you may or may not like/succeed at despite how much money they pay you. in the past florida teams were mostly a joke but nowadays it's a prime location to win at basically everything. |
Zegras to Flyers btw, I don't think he'll have a fun time with Tocchet lol. |

Florida has more Canadian players on it than Edmonton does |

Yah you see the difference? He made a good point, your post is complete nonsense that sounds like citizenship changes when you play in a different country. |
Florida took a chance on disappointing prospects and they all over exceeded. They took a chance, high risk, high reward. Thats Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart and Gustav Forsling.. |
30+ years of disappointment and barely even making the playoffs and all of a sudden Florida is the model franchise? Lol |
