Damn, didn't expect that to get emotional.

Schaefer’s Mom passed away last year after a two year battle with breast cancer.

He pointed upwards to thank his Mom at that moment in the draft.

I understand now why he was so emotional at the draft. -heartbreaking news to hear what happened to his Mom.

So apparently Kane was out at Miller’s favourite escort bar “Pierre’s” last night and was pushing around some Asian dudes and they beat him up lol

That didn’t take long!

FWIW

Allvin was buy signing players to contract extensions:

The Vancouver Canucks announced Monday that the forward has signed a two-year contract extension.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...gs-by-canucks/

The Canucks simultaneously announced three other new contracts Monday, inking Max Sasson (one year, $775,000 AAV), Aatu Räty (two years, $775,000 AAV) and Guillaume Brisebois (one year, two way) to new deals.

I saw the article on that on Canucks Daily. Him and his friends were just minding their own business until they got jumped
Kane got medical attention but he's okay now.

Wow, Aaron Ekblad takes a paycut to stay in FLA. 8 years x $6.1 mil.

Reminds me of the 2011 team

bobbinka 06-30-2025 12:37 PM

EDM Bouchard 4 x $10.5mil :lol

68style 06-30-2025 01:47 PM

6.1 in Florida is like 8.5 anywhere else… but Bettman says there’s no advantage to the tax system so everything is fine.

teggy604 06-30-2025 03:17 PM

20 million defense for Edmonton. What a joke. You add 14M for Leon and blank cheque if mc David stays. They are going to be Toronto.

bobbinka 06-30-2025 03:18 PM

Holy shit, FLA keeps Marchand. 6 years at $5.25mil. he's 37, LOL

They still need to sign/extend 4 more players, so someone needs to get traded.

SkinnyPupp 06-30-2025 05:57 PM

For Nick Roy

SkinnyPupp 06-30-2025 06:00 PM

Pietrangelo retiring (I think?)

This couldn’t possibly be a more obvious salary cap circumvention if they tried

whitev70r 06-30-2025 10:22 PM

Yah, he retires and goes on LTIR at 40.

So, penalty for the Canucks

No LTIR for players after 35.

For contracts signed at or after age 35, any remaining cap hit counts against the team's salary cap even if the player is on LTIR.

Demmer 3x8.5m

whitev70r 07-01-2025 06:39 AM

no ... you cannot be for real ?? 8.5M ??!! for Sammy Salo type of goal tender?

68style 07-01-2025 06:44 AM

Yikes $13M wrapped up in 2 goalies for a minimum of 3 years after this upcoming season. Lank has a full NMC for 2 years and M-NTC for 3 years after that too. I would imagine Demko has some sort of NTC.

Thanks for the Calder Cup Silovs

SkinnyPupp 07-01-2025 07:24 AM

Demko is the best Canuck since the Twins, I'm happy

whitev70r 07-01-2025 07:26 AM

The Twins never took half the sick days together as Demko took in 1 year.

He's a $6.5-7.5M/yr goalie at best.

Demko's agent must have had to pinch himself ...
Allvin, 'We like to offer you $8.5 over 3 years.'
Agent, 'Sorry, did I hear that right, did you say $8.5 over 3 yrs?'

pastarocket 07-01-2025 07:29 AM

Way overpaid for an injury prone Demko.

8.5 million AAV.

Demmer has one heck of an agent hahah.

Skinny is thinking $8.5M HK dollars ... 'Yah, that's a good deal.'

winson604 07-01-2025 08:39 AM

Holy Boeser is staying I can't say I saw that coming. 7 years @ 7.25 great deal in todays money

68style 07-01-2025 09:22 AM

Hahaha I lost count how many comments on social media I saw about this “trash organization” driving a guy like Boeser out of town and that he would never re-sign here in a million years… fan media here is so toxic

keifun 07-01-2025 09:25 AM

Good to hear we got US guys like Garland, Demko and Boeser wanting to stay in VAN. A Canadian market noneless.
Great core guys!
